AllSides has issued an open letter to Google calling on the company to address the misleading Kamala Harris campaign ads that blur the line between campaign and news content.

Our letter calls on Google to immediately and publicly prevent agenda-driven manipulation of news media content.

In a statement, AllSides CEO John Gable has also called on the Harris campaign to immediately cease running Google ads for text content.

"AllSides calls on the Harris campaign to cease—and for all campaigns to avoid—running Google text ads for news content. The current ad format lacks sufficient context and is ripe for abuse. We also strongly urge Google to address the issue, as other platforms have already done, by blocking potentially misleading third-party ads for news content."
