The AllSides mission is to free people from filter bubbles so they can better understand the world — and each other. We do this by providing balanced news, media bias ratings, and opportunities for conversations across divides — all of which center and highlight diverse perspectives. We’ve just launched our latest feature to help fulfill our mission — the AllSides Bridging Community.

The AllSides Bridging Community is a news and information hub highlighting efforts to bridge divides and find common ground. This community serves as a resource to connect, take action, and stay informed on bridging in America.

In this hub, AllSides will highlight news stories and perspectives about bipartisanship, common ground, and crossing the partisan divide from AllSides staff, guest writers, and other media outlets. You can also explore discussion and debate events, browse bipartisan legislation, take quizzes on the state of polarization, and discover partner organizations in the bridge-building movement. 

Polarization is reaching record highs. In part, this increase in polarization is due to filter bubbles, which are greatly driven by online technology that feeds us only people and information that confirm our existing beliefs, as well as unchecked media bias, in which news organizations feed us one-sided news that exacerbates partisan tension and social divides.

But it’s not all doom and gloom. While these issues plague us, there are many groups working to ease polarization, increase mutual understanding, and promote beneficial bipartisanship across the country. The AllSides Bridging Community is a resource to connect with those communities, take action, and stay informed on bridging in America.
