NBC News’ AllSides Media Bias Rating™ was confirmed as Lean Left in our August 2022 Blind Bias Survey of Americans across the political spectrum.
On a scale of -9 to +9 with 0 representing Center, respondents on average rated NBC News’ bias as -2.55, putting it in the Lean Left media bias category.

On average, respondents who self-reported being on the left (Left, Lean Left) and respondents who are Center rated NBC News as Lean Left. Respondents on the right (Right, Lean Right) rated NBC News as Left.
Democrats, Independents, and Republicans all rated the bias of NBC News as Lean Left, on average. Respondents on the right perceived NBC News as farther left than people in the center or on the left.
A total of 822 people from across the political spectrum rated the bias of NBC News. When normalized, 72% of respondents rated NBC News as left of center (31% Left, 41% Lean Left), 18% rated it as in the exact center, and 10% rated it as right of center (3% Right, 7% Lean Right).
