AllSides has shifted PBS NewsHour’s Media Bias Rating™ from Center to Lean Left.

The AllSides team conducted an Editorial Review in November 2022. All reviewers gave a rating of Lean Left for PBS NewsHour overall, with the exception of one reviewer from the left who placed the outlet slightly left of center.
While our team found much coverage to be neutral, PBS NewsHour consistently published stories of interest to left-leaning audiences. Many articles contained left-leaning word choice, such as calling the events on Jan. 6 an “insurrection” and transgender medical procedures “gender-affirming care.” There were, however, several instances of balance in which PBS NewsHour gave equal coverage to perspectives from the left and the right.
