The Libertarian Party's presidential nominee, Jo Jorgensen, didn't attend a campaign event after getting bitten by a bat.
Jorgensen, 63, said she missed a campaign event on Saturday morning because a doctor advised her to get a rabies vaccine after the bat attack.
"We are sorry to report that Dr. Jo Jorgensen will not be able to attend the campaign rally tomorrow morning," she wrote on social media. "On the advice of her doctor, she will be getting a rabies vaccine as a precaution after having been bitten by a bat near the start of this campaign tour. Dr. Jorgensen still has every intention of participating in the FLAME rally, and she will deliver remarks at the #LetHerSpeak rally in Hattiesburg later in the afternoon."
Jorgensen, who has been a member of the Libertarian Party since 1983, noted that she would be at other events later in the day after receiving the precautionary vaccine.
It is unclear if the bat was harmed after biting the long-shot presidential candidate.
