President Joe Biden has declared that "MAGA lost" as he celebrated Tuesday's election results that saw wins for Democrats and a significant victory for abortion rights in Ohio.
Biden took to social media site X, formerly Twitter, and praised the results of elections that saw Democrats rack up notable wins in the Kentucky governor's race and in the Virginia legislature.
"Across the country tonight, democracy won and MAGA lost," Biden wrote on his X account on Tuesday, referring to the Make America Great Again slogan associated with former President Donald Trump, who remains the Republican frontrunner in polls for the party's 2024 presidential nomination. "Voters vote. Polls don't. Now let's go win next year. Donate to join us."
Biden may have been making reference to recent polls from The New York Times/Siena College that showed Trump leading the president in five key swing states.
In a separate post by the official @POTUS account on X, Biden wrote: "Tonight, Americans once again voted to protect their fundamental freedoms—and democracy won."
