Our goal is to inform people about politics by providing accurate and objective information about politics at all levels of government. Ballotpedia's articles are 100 percent written by our professional staff and a small group of guest editors. All content written by our guest editors is reviewed and fact-checked by our staff." The company worked with tech giants Amazon and Twitter in separate capacities in 2018 to help provide information about local elections and combat political misinformation on social media. It was founded in 2007 by the Lucy Burns Institute, a nonprofit, nonpartisan educational organization.
