At least 18 people have died in central and southern parts of the US after tornadoes tore through southern and central parts of the country, the BBC's US partner CBS reports.
The US states of Missouri, Arkansas, Texas and Oklahoma have all reported fatalities as a result of the severe weather.
More severe weather is forecast for many of these areas on Saturday, with tornado watches issued in central Mississippi, eastern Louisiana and western Tennessee.
