Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) spoke out against Archbishop Salvatore Cordileone after he announced last year she would be barred from receiving Holy Communion.
Pelosi, speaking at an event at Georgetown University’s Center on Faith and Justice on Thursday, brought up the Catholic archbishop of San Francisco while discussing politics and her faith.
“I have a problem with my archbishop,” Pelosi said, “and I figure that’s his problem, not mine.”
She also said she was pretty much "in sync" with much of the teachings of the Catholic Church, although the Archbishop of San Francisco has denied her Communion over her stance on abortion.
