Florida is contending with a condo crisis, and the ballooning costs of ownership are a big reason why.

Retirees Rob and Karen Dickson moved from upstate New York to Punta Gorda, Fla., in 2021. They paid $319,000 for a condo with a terrace on the third floor, overlooking a golf course inside their gated community.

South Florida hotels are offering hospitality through bold renovations, design revivals and an emphasis on the guest experience. Historic oceanfront properties such as an 85-year-old landmark have received major upgrades, blending preserved architectural elements like vintage diving towers with state-of-the-art amenities and contemporary design. New projects are mixing hotels, entertainment complexes and culinary hotspots such as what's planned on the Miami River.

Yet another big, new restaurant has opened at Miami Worldcenter. This time it’s Earls from Earls Restaurant Group based in Vancouver, British Colombia, which serves modern American cuisine. The restaurant is located a few doors down from Sixty Vines at Miami Worldcenter, the $6 billion, 27-acre mixed-use development of retail and residential units in downtown Miami. The restaurant has 70 locations, 11 of them in the United States, and recently opened a location on Las Olas Boulevard in Fort Lauderdale. There’s also a location at the Dadeland Mall in Kendall....

The renowned crystal-clear waters of the Bahamas act as a "springboard" for illegal immigration to South Florida, an expert said.Fox News Digital spoke with retired Rear Adm. Peter Brown, former Homeland Security advisor to President Donald Trump, about illegal immigration from the Bahamas to Florida."Normally, when we think of maritime migration, we think about Haiti or Cuba, maybe the Dominican Republic, but the unknown in that equation is the Bahamas," he said. "The Bahamas presents a special case, not so much because Bahamians want to get to the U.S., although...

House lawmakers are taking a years-long effort to abolish or defund VISIT FLORIDA, the state’s public-private tourism promotion apparatus, to the local level. In the most recent iteration of the chamber’s tax package (HB 7033), the House Ways and Means Committee put all 62 tourist development councils in Florida on the chopping block. Just a single sentence would effectuate the change: ā€œAny tourist development council created pursuant to s. 125.0104 (4) (e), Florida Statutes, as it existed prior to July 1, 2025, shall be dissolved no later than Dec. 1,...

There were 282 passengers on board Delta Flight 1213 at the time, and fortunately none of them were reported to be injured in...

Once the ā€œLittle Piano Manā€ who, in 2024, graduated with honors from Pine Crest School in Fort Lauderdale, Brandon Goldberg returns home from his first year at New York’s Juilliard conservatory as an adult artist with his own, eponymous jazz trio. Goldberg, 19, will perform in concert Sunday7 at Aventura Arts & Cultural Center, which is managed by Broward Center for the Performing Arts. ā€œThis is half solo, half trio,ā€ says Goldberg. ā€œThe program is the music of Kern, Gershwin, Porter and Powell – Jerome Kern, George Gershwin, Cole Porter...

Passengers aboard a Delta Air Lines flight evacuated on emergency slides onto the Orlando International Airport tarmac on Monday due to an engine fire. The Federal Aviation Administration said Flight 1213 was pushing back from the gate for departure around 11:15 a.m. when an engine caught on fire.
