EAST LANSING, Mich. (AP) — Trustees at Michigan State University agreed Friday to release documents to the state attorney general related to the school’s investigations into now-imprisoned former sports doctor Larry Nassar. The East Lansing school’s trustees unanimously voted to finally turn over the documents, which first will be reviewed by the school’s general counsel before they’re released. There will be redactions of sensitive and personal privacy information. The school had argued that the documents are protected by attorney-client privilege.

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees moved to release thousands of remaining documents related to the Larry Nassar sex abuse scandal to Attorney General Dana Nessel's office after years of objection to the decision. Trustees voted unanimously Friday on a resolution to release the withheld documents, which are the subject of an April request from the state prosecutor. The resolution states that "the University desires to cooperate and provide finality to the matter" and authorizes the school's legal counsel to begin the process of sending the files to Nessel....

EAST LANSING, MI — Michigan State University board members on Friday approved releasing thousands of documents tied to the university's handling of their investigation into Larry Nassar, a former professor and doctor who sexually abused hundreds of young girls and women, according to multiple reports. The Board of Trustees' unanimous vote comes years after survivors have lobbied for the documents to be released to help their healing. The university has withheld the documents based on an attorney-client privilege.

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan State University Board of Trustees voted unanimously to release thousands of pages of documents related to the Larry Nassar scandal. The resolution that was agreed upon did not state a timeline for the release of the documents but did include agreements to redact items in the documents. Nassar, 60, the ex-U.S. women’s gymnastics team doctor was sentenced in 2018 to 40 to 175 years in prison after he admitted to molesting some of the nation’s top gymnasts for years under the guise of...

EAST LANSING — The Michigan State University Board of Trustees voted Friday to release more long-sought documents from its investigations of serial predator Larry Nassar it had been withholding under attorney-client privilege to the attorney general. The documents, with redactions for personal privacy, HIPPA, court orders and information unrelated to the investigation, will be reviewed by General Counsel Brian Quinn and released to the Michigan Attorney General's office, according to a board resolution adopted unanimously.

The Michigan State University Board of Trustees voted to release thousands of documents relating to its handling of the Larry Nassar investigation. The vote could end a years-long fight between the university and Nassar survivors with the Michigan Attorney General's Office, both of whom have been trying to get the documents. In July, a group of Nassar survivors and parents sued the university, saying the school refused to give the AG's office more than 6,000 documents for an investigation into how Nassar was allowed to sexually assault hundreds of women...

E. LANSING, MI -- Michigan State University’s Board of Trustees has voted to release thousands of documents related to the investigation into sexual abuse by former university doctor Larry Nassar, files the school withheld from the public for more than five years citing attorney-client privilege. The university “desires to cooperate and provide finality in the matter,” the Board said in a resolution read during Friday morning’s meeting by Trustee Dan Kelly. A major obstacle to the documents’ release has also dropped away. In 2018, MSU sued 13 of its insurers,...

EAST LANSING, Mich. (WILX) - The Michigan State University (MSU) Board of Trustees has voted unanimously to release the documents related to the Larry Nassar scandal to the Michigan Attorney General’s Office. In July, survivors of Nassar and their families filed a lawsuit against MSU alleging there were secret votes and decisions made by the university, which violated the Open Meetings Act and the Michigan State Constitution. The lawsuit filed against the university and the Board of Trustees aimed to force MSU to follow laws and protect the public. Meanwhile,...
