The United States imposed sanctions on a far-right Israeli group on Thursday, along with three people and on unauthorized outpost settlements in the West Bank. Sanctions were aimed at Lehava, an Israeli nonprofit that the U.S. State Department called the "largest violent extremist organization in Israel," blacklisting the group. Lehava is opposed to assimilating Jews with non-Jewish individuals. The Biden administration charges that members of Lehava have participated in violent acts against Palestinians. The U.S.

US measures target three Israeli individuals and five entities over violence in the occupied West Bank. The United States has announced new sanctions on several Israeli settlers and affiliated groups, accusing them of involvement in violence or threats of violence targeting civilians, seizure of property or other actions that threaten security in the occupied West Bank. The sanctions announced by the US Department of State and the Department of the Treasury on Thursday target Israeli individuals Isachar Manne, Reut Ben Haim, and Aviad Shlomo Sarid, and four illegal Israeli settlement...

In an apparent case of mistaken identity, the Kan public broadcaster reports that an Israeli blacklisted in the latest batch of US sanctions is not the settler leader that the Treasury Department accuses of interfering with aid shipments to Gaza.

Among the co-heads the Tzav 9 group that the US named today was Aviad Shlomo Sarid. While one of the group’s leaders is named Aviad Sarid, the Aviad Shlomo Sarid sanctioned by the US is a different person who is not linked to Tzav 9.

The Biden administration issues its fifth batch of sanctions against Israeli extremists and illegal outposts, targeting three individuals and five entities, including the anti-miscegenation Lehava group led by already-designated extremist Benzi Gopstein, an ally of National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir. The sanctions largely take aim at individuals and entities linked to those already sanctioned in the previous four rounds. These include the co-heads of the already-designated Tzav 9 group, Reut Ben Haim and Aviad Shlomo Sarid.

The United States on Thursday imposed sanctions on an Israeli violent extremist organization, three Israeli individuals and four “outposts” connected to violence in the West Bank. Thursday’s sanctions are the latest tranche under an executive order issued by President Joe Biden in early February amid increased violence in the occupied West Bank. That violence flared in the wake of the October 7 terrorist attack and has continued in subsequent months.
