The stage is looking set for the November general election in Macomb County after Tuesday's primary, where there was competition in two countywide offices, clerk and sheriff. Five of the six countywide offices will be up for grabs in the fall. The county executive seat is not up for another two years. Republican Clerk/Register of Deeds Anthony Forlini defeated challengers Kristi Dean, secretary of the Macomb Community College Board of Trustees from Shelby Township, and Jackie Ryan, of Sterling Heights, a former deputy county clerk who served under ousted county...

MICHIGAN — Democrat incumbent Rep. Rashida Tlaib is running for re-election unopposed, while two Republicans are vying for the Republican nomination in Tuesday's primary election for Michigan's 12th Congressional District.

The district includes parts of Wayne and Oakland counties, including part of Detroit, Dearborn, Livonia and Southfield, among others.

Downballot primaries continue tonight with races in four states. We'll begin our live coverage at 8 PM ET when polls close in Missouri and nearly all of Kansas and Michigan. Polls close in the rest of Kansas and Michigan at 9 PM ET, and voting ends in Washington at 11 PM ET. We'll be liveblogging the results here and also covering the returns closely on X.

After three terms as the state’s chief executive, Gov. Jay Inslee (D) is not running for reelection. A whopping 28 candidates are facing off in the state’s all-party primary. The biggest spenders have been Democrats Bob Ferguson and Mark Mullet and Republicans Dave Reichert and Semi Bird. The top two vote-getters will advance to the November election, regardless of party affiliation.
