Ukraine said more than two dozen people were killed and scores injured after Russian missiles struck the city of Sumy, days after U.S. envoy Steve Witkoff met with Russian President Vladimir Putin to discuss ending the war. Two ballistic missiles hit the center of the city, in northeastern Ukraine, on Palm Sunday morning, the city’s regional administration said on its Telegram channel. At least 32 people were killed, including two children, and more than 80 injured, according to Ukraine’s emergencies ministry. The missile strikes came as many people were out...

KYIV, Ukraine—A Russian ballistic-missile strike on the northern Ukrainian city of Sumy killed at least 31 people, Ukrainian officials said, leaving civilian bodies lying bloodied and motionless in a central street.

President Volodymyr Zelensky said the attack, which took place on Sunday morning while many people were celebrating Palm Sunday, was evidence that Russia had no intention of bringing its three-year war to an end.

A Russian missile strike has devastated the Ukrainian city of Sumy, claiming the lives of more than 30 people, including children, on Palm Sunday. Two ballistic missiles struck the city centre around 10:15am as residents prepared for the religious holiday. Videos circulating on official channels depict a horrific scene of bodies strewn amidst debris and smoke, a stark contrast to the peaceful Palm Sunday observances. Acting Mayor Artem Kobzar expressed the city's grief, stating, "On this bright Palm Sunday, our community has suffered a terrible tragedy. Unfortunately, we already know...

More than 20 people have been killed after a Russian missile strike hit Ukraine - the same day as Christians celebrate the start of Holy Week. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has issued a statement responding to the strike on the city of Sumy this morning, demanding a "tough reaction from the world". He added: "Russia wants exactly this kind of terror and is dragging out this war. "Without pressure on the aggressor, peace is impossible. "Talks have never stopped ballistic missiles and air bombs. We need the kind of attitude...
