One of the eight people injured in a Kentucky bank shooting that left five people dead on Monday told CBS News that she mentored gunman Connor Sturgeon, the Alabama graduate killed by Louisville police. ā€œHe never made me feel like he would have done this. Not in a million years. He was very kind and soft-spoken,ā€ Dana Mitchell told CBS News. Mitchell said she pretended to be dead after Sturgeon shot her with an AR-15, leaving her with a bullet wound ā€œ10 inches longā€ that ā€œdidn’t hit anything important.ā€ •...

Louisville bank shooter Connor Sturgeon shot his former mentor during the senseless rampage, with the woman describing in haunting detail how she played dead to survive. ā€œI felt him shooting me immediately. I just laid down there,ā€ Dana Mitchell recounted to CBS News. ā€œI tried not to breathe a lot. I didn’t want to move around. I didn’t want him to see me moving or hear me breathing, because I thought he might shoot me again,ā€ she added. Sturgeon then walked out of the conference room at Old National Bank...

The lone gunman who shot up a bank in downtown Louisville, Kentucky on Monday morning had just moved into a two-bedroom, two-bathroom home with his friend, The Post can report. Connor Sturgeon was identified by police as the 25-year-old gunman who went on a rampage at the bank where he was employed, Old National Bank, which left five people dead and eight others wounded. Sturgeon had been living in a 1,000-square-foot home at the time, which his friend Dallas Whelan, 24, had purchased for $203,000 last April. Sturgeon and Whelan...

Elected officials often come to know loved ones of mass shooting victims following a tragedy. But U.S. Sen. Rick Scott said he was friends for years with one of the men murdered in Louisville, Kentucky. The Naples Republican revealed on social media that he knew Thomas Elliott, one of five people identified as victims killed at Old National Bank on Monday. ā€œMy friend Tommy Elliott was killed today in Louisville,ā€ Scott posted on Twitter. ā€œHe was my banker for many years. This news is very shocking and sad for Ann...

Authorities in Louisville, Kentucky, say they are still working to piece together details of Monday morning’s mass shooting that left five victims dead at a downtown bank, but a picture has started to emerge of the shooter—a 25-year-old bank employee. Police identified the shooter as Connor Sturgeon, who they say live-streamed his killing of four Old National Bank employees: 64-year-old market executive Jim Tutt, 63-year-old senior vice president Tommy Elliott, 57-year-old commercial banking agent Juliana Farmer and 40-year-old senior vice president of commercial real estate Josh Barrick.
