Hunter Biden’s sweetheart plea deal was rejected on Wednesday by Federal Judge Maryellen Norieka, who found major inconsistencies between how the prosecution and the defense had framed the agreement. The ensuing coverage contained a lot of theatrical head-scratching, as well as routine mentions that Norieka was appointed by former President Trump. In fact, the TV news media can hardly even mention about Hunter Biden’s failed plea agreement without making really, really sure that absolutely everyone knows that the judge who tossed it was appointed by Trump. Just look at them...

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries would not address President Biden’s refusal to acknowledge his grandchild Navy Joan Roberts, the out-of-wedlock daughter of his son Hunter Biden. “I have no idea what you’re talking about,” Mr. Jeffries, New York Democrat, told The Washington Times when asked at a press conference if he thought the president should publicly recognize his four-year-old granddaughter. Mr.

The Biden administration’s Department of Justice admitted during Wednesday’s hearing that there is no precedent for the aspect of Hunter Biden’s pretrial diversion agreement that prevented prosecution for crimes unrelated to the case, according to the transcript. The deal — which Judge Maryellen Noreika declined to accept Wednesday — involved two documents: a plea deal for two misdemeanor tax charges and a diversion agreement allowing the son of President Joe Biden to avoid jail time for a felony gun charge. The provision in question by the judge was paragraph 15...

Department of Justice (DOJ) prosecutors buried the agency’s deal not to prosecute Hunter Biden for non-tax crimes in Biden’s diversion agreement, rather than his guilty plea, prior to Wednesday’s court hearing during which the arrangement fell apart. Judge Maryellen Noreika objected to the terms of Hunter Biden’s diversion agreement at his arraignment Wednesday because it appeared to give Hunter Biden immunity from prosecution for crimes related to his two misdemeanor tax charges, according to a transcript of Biden’s court appearance.

Devon Archer, Hunter Biden’s longtime friend and fellow Burisma board member, is reportedly in “hiding” ahead of his expected testimony on President Biden’s involvement with Hunter Biden’s business deals before becoming president. Archer is expected to testify next week to the House Oversight Committee that he witnessed Biden sitting in on at least two dozen calls with Hunter. The New York Post first reported the scheduled hearing late Sunday. Since then, Archer told friends he has fled his Long Island and Brooklyn homes, but he still plans to testify, the...

It's been 24-hours since Hunter Biden entered a Delaware courtroom expecting to walk away without jail time and a codification of his sweetheart plea deal offered by the Department of Justice -- wiping away felony tax fraud and a felony gun charge with minor misdemeanors and a diversion program. But after asking just a few questions, U.S. District Court Judge Maryellen Noreikam torpedoed the whole thing and exposed DOJ's collusion with the Hunter Biden legal team to evade more serious charges in the future. According to former federal prosecutor Will...

The White House on Thursday bashed Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) over pushback from fellow Republicans in his conference over him floating the idea of pursuing impeachment. McCarthy this week signaled that the House could move forward with an impeachment inquiry against Biden, though he made it clear no decision has been made. The White House, in a statement exclusively obtained by The Hill, called McCarthy’s comments “a ridiculous, baseless stunt, intended to attack the President at a time when House Republicans should instead be joining the President to focus on...

Hunter Biden left a courthouse on Wednesday after a judge upended his plans to wind up his legal troubles. A federal judge’s upending of Hunter Biden ’s plans to wind up his legal troubles before his father’s 2024 re-election campaign has heightened the legal peril for President Biden’s son and could give the president’s political opponents fresh ammunition in their scrutiny of the first family. In an extraordinary courtroom drama, the judge expressed concerns about a proposed plea deal under which the younger Biden would have likely served no time...

President Biden’s campaign is betting on a repeat of 2020, when he beat then-incumbent President Trump. But 2024 will come with new and unprecedented challenges for candidate Biden, namely his predecessor’s mounting legal troubles. For Biden, it will mean navigating the idea that his administration’s Justice Department (DOJ) is prosecuting his chief political opponent — despite trying to stay as far away from appearing to interfere with multiple probes. That hasn’t stopped Trump and his allies from constantly accusing Biden of “weaponizing” the DOJ and FBI. But Democrats say the...
