House Republicans Draft Compromise Immigration Plan, Would Prevent Separating Children from Parents at Border

House Republican leadership indicated on Wednesday they had White House support on their plan to put two immigration bills forward, but it was unclear if that would be enough for a bill to pass in Congress.

The House speaker blamed the courts for immigrant family separations that the courts did not require.

Republicans tried to build support Wednesday for their compromise immigration plan, saying they’ve come up with something that can unite the GOP and get President Trump’s signature.
