On Tuesday evening, Fox News aired host Sean Hannity's pre-taped joint interview with President Donald Trump and Elon Musk.
Key Details: Trump and Musk praised each other as they rejected Democrats' criticism of DOGE and the firings that have led to several lawsuits. Topics included the current state of politics and the future of American innovation, as well as a discussion of when Trump sued Twitter (now X) and Musk paid the president $10 million.
Key Quote: Trump called Musk a "very good man" who wants to see the country do well. Musk said of Trump, “He’s been so unfairly attacked. It's really outrageous."
For Context: Democrats are claiming that Musk's audits of government agencies are politically motivated and illegal. Musk is claiming that DOGE's audits would cut at least $1 trillion out of the annual deficit.
How the Media Covered it: There was little coverage of the interview from the left, though The Guardian (Left bias) reported that Trump and Musk rejected claims that Musk was "usurping the president's limelight - and power." Townhall (Right) reported that the pair also discussed a tax refund, a “DOGE dividend,” that every U.S. taxpayer would receive, based on savings delivered by DOGE.
