Three Republican lawmakers drafted legislation to remove President Biden from the Democratic primary ballots in their states on Friday.

The Details: Representatives Aaron Bernstine (R-PA), Charlice Byrd (R-GA), and Cory Mcgarr (R-AZ) released a joint statement that cited their motivation as showing the “absurdity” of Colorado’s decision to remove President Trump from the state’s ballot.

For Context: Earlier this week, the Colorado Supreme Court controversially ordered Trump’s name be removed from the state’s Republican primary ballot on the premise that he violated Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, which disqualifies candidates who have “engaged in insurrection.”

Key Quote: The statement said, “By their very own interpretation of the law, Joe Biden is 100% not eligible to run for political office. Democrats’ insane justification to remove Trump can just as easily be applied to Joe Biden for his ‘insurrection’ at the southern border and his alleged corrupt family business dealings with China… To be clear, our objective is to showcase the absurdity of Colorado’s decision and allow ALL candidates to be on the ballot in all states.”

How The Media Covered It: Breitbart News (Right) was the first to report the story. The news was covered almost exclusively by outlets on the Right, but not by large mainstream outlets like Fox News (Right bias)New York Post (Lean Right bias), or National Review (Lean Right bias). As of December 24, Newsweek (Center bias) was the only Center-rated source AllSides found coverage from. AllSides did not find coverage from any outlets on the left.

Three Republican state lawmakers are drafting legislation to remove President Joe Biden from ballots in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania, Breitbart News exclusively learned Friday.

If Biden is removed from the ballots, the president will have difficulty winning the Democrat primary and presidential election. Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania are vital swing states.

The three state representatives who are drafting the three bills are:

Pennsylvania Rep. Aaron Bernstine (R)

Georgia Rep. Charlice Byrd (R)

Arizona Rep. Cory Mcgarr (R)

Republicans from three state legislatures have made a move toward keeping President Joe Biden off the 2024 presidential ballot. This comes just days after the Colorado Supreme Court moved that former President Donald Trump would not be allowed to appear on that state's ballot.

Pennsylvania State Rep. Aaron Bernstine, Georgia State Rep. Charlice Byrd, and Arizona State Rep. Cory McGarr released the following joint statement about their efforts and upcoming legislation to remove the current president's name from the ballot in Georgia, Arizona, and Pennsylvania.

Republican lawmakers in three swing states have announced their plan to remove President Joe Biden from their state ballots.

Aaron Bernstine of the Pennsylvania House of Representatives, Cory McGarr of the Arizona House of Representatives and Charlice Byrd of the Georgia House of Representatives released a joint statement on Thursday announcing their plan to remove Biden from the 2024 general election ballots in those three states.

Newsweek reached out to Bernstine, McGarr and Byrd via email and phone, as well as the White House and Biden's campaign via email for comment.
