Ronna McDaniel has been dropped as a political commentator by NBC News (online news rated Lean Left) after hosts criticized her hiring.

Key Details: NBC News announced McDaniel's hiring last Friday, and since then, journalists at NBC News and MSNBC have been speaking out against the hiring. On-air objections came from Chuck Todd, Joe Scarborough, Rachel Maddow, Nicolle Wallace, Lawrence O'Connell, Jen Psaki, and Joy Reid on Monday. McDaniel reportedly learned about the termination through media reports.

Key Quotes: “No organization, particularly a newsroom, can succeed unless it is cohesive and aligned. Over the last few days, it has become clear that this appointment undermines that goal,” said NBC Universal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde. He also said the network remained committed to centering “voices that represent different parts of the political spectrum.” Former President Donald Trump, on Truth Social, said, "These Radical Left Lunatics are CRAZY, and the top people at NBC ARE WEAK.”

For Context: NBC hired McDaniel after she stepped down as Republican National Committee (RNC) Chair on March 8th.

How the Media Covered it: Axios (Lean Left bias) noted that NBC has several other Republican commentators, including Brendan Buck, a former top congressional aide, and Marc Short, who was chief of staff to former Vice President Mike Pence. Fox News (Right bias) noted that McDaniel plans to sue NBC News for "mental distress."

NBC News cut ties Tuesday with former Republican National Committee chief Ronna McDaniel less than a week after hiring her as an on-air political contributor, a decision that followed a furious protest by some of its journalists and commentators.

In announcing the decision in a memo, NBC Universal News Group Chairman Cesar Conde apologized to staff members who felt let down by the hire, acknowledging he had signed off on it.

NBC News cut ties with Ronna McDaniel mere days after it hired the former Republican National Committee chairwoman as a contributor, a dramatic about-face that followed a very public rebuke from some of its biggest stars.

The move, which was announced Tuesday in a memo, caps a frantic four days for NBC News, which had looked to bring in a conservative voice to its political coverage ahead of the presidential election but instead became the target of broad condemnations from observers and employees alike.

NBC News has officially terminated its short-lived relationship with former RNC chair Ronna McDaniel, according to a memo sent to staff by the network's boss.

"There is no doubt that the last several days have been difficult for the News Group," NBCUniversial News Group Chairman Cesar Conde began Tuesday in a copy of the memo obtained by Fox News Digital. "After listening to the legitimate concerns of many of you, I have decided that Ronna McDaniel will not be an NBC News contributor."
