The American Athletic Conference softball tournament figures to be the most competitive it’s ever been with seven teams ranked in the top-85 of the RPI. With so many contenders for the automatic berth to an NCAA regional, Wichita State holds a key edge in the postseason: home-field advantage. Wilkins Stadium will host the single-elimination conference tournament, which begins Wednesday and crowns the AAC champion Sunday. The Shockers (25-21) are the No. 4 seed and open play against No. 9 seed UTSA (15-41) at 7 p.m. Wednesday. The winner faces the...

A tornado warning is in place for Oklahoma and Arkansas, with the National Weather Service warning residents to 'take cover now'. At present in Oklahoma, tornado warnings are in place for Central Franklin County, Southwestern Madison County, Southeastern Madison County and Northeastern Franklin County. In Arkansas, tornado warnings are in place for Southwestern Newton County and Northwestern Johnson County. Residents are warned of mobile homes being damaged or destroyed, flying debris, and dangerous hail stones. It comes as a reportedly "mile wide" tornado ripped through parts of Oklahoma.

The SMU Mustangs have landed another major player out of the transfer portal. This time, it’s former Arkansas offensive tackle Andrew Chamblee, who committed Monday and will be a redshirt freshman. Chamblee was the No. 2 overall recruit in the state of Arkansas when he committed to the Razorbacks, and now he is the No. 22 offensive tackle to have entered the transfer portal this year. He joins Arkansas teammate and fellow offensive lineman Paris Patterson in transferring to SMU. The Mustangs have picked up many pieces, including on the...

Politicians on both sides of the political aisle recognized Holocaust Remembrance Day on Monday. "This year’s Holocaust Remembrance Day is especially somber. Right now, Israel is waging a war against terrorists who deny its right to exist and perpetrated the worst massacre of Jews since World War II. Here in America, college campuses are becoming increasingly hostile to Jewish students as antisemitic mobs espousing vile rhetoric go unchecked by liberal administrators and politicians," GOP Sen. Tom Cotton of Arkansas said in a statement. "'Never again' is not a slogan, it's...

The State Department is failing to recruit a Foreign Service that fully represents the American people, as required by the Foreign Service Act of 1980. One of State’s most glaring recruitment shortcomings is its inability to hire new Foreign Service officers (FSOs) who come from all geographic regions of America. This ongoing failure helps to perpetuate the mindset of the current Foreign Service and shape its policy attitudes. Fielding a U.S. diplomatic and consular corps that truly reflects the geographic diversity and values of the American people, and not just...

Former Arkansas Gov. Mike Huckabee told Newsmax on Friday the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) needs to answer for a predawn raid in March that resulted in the death of a 53-year-old Arkansas man. ATF agents raided the home of Bryan Malinowski, the executive director of the Bill and Hillary Clinton International Airport in Little Rock, Arkansas, in the early hours on March 19 to serve a search warrant. According to the affidavit for the search warrant, Malinowski was being investigated for purchasing more than 150 guns...

The wife of the former manager of the Harvard Medical School morgue accused of running a nationwide scheme to sell body parts taken from cadavers that were supposed to be cremated changed her plea to guilty Friday in federal court in Pennsylvania for her role in the operation, according to court records. Denise Lodge, of Goffstown, N.H., agreed to plead guilty to a charge of interstate transportation of stolen goods as part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, who will drop a conspiracy charge against her, according to the records....

At some point in the next several months, Donald Trump—having parted ways with his veep, whom he almost got killed—is going to have to announce a 2024 running mate. Who is the lucky lady, or lad, going to be? No one, including the GOP presidential candidate himself, seems to know. The short list, a Trump adviser told The Washington Post, is “growing, not shrinking,” and the ex-president continues to come up with new names for consideration. But he definitely has some requirements that narrow the field of potential candidates. According...
