Lawlessness in San Francisco has prompted business owner and lifelong resident Tom Wong to abandon the city and flee for the suburbs in hope of escaping the chaos.

Wong told FOX Business' Ashley Webster on Monday that he no longer recognizes the city he grew up in and its downward spiral has left its youth hopeless and vengeful against locals and area establishments.

"I moved out to the suburbs because it's much safer," he explained during his appearance on "Varney & Co."

Helping a minor cross state lines to terminate a pregnancy without her parents' consent would become a crime punishable by up to five years in prison under a bill passed Thursday by Idaho's Republican-dominated legislature.

The bill would also allow a man who impregnates a woman - including rapists - as well as other family members to sue abortion providers.

If signed by Republican Governor Brad Little, the legislation would be the first of its kind in the country, according to the abortion provider Planned Parenthood, which has said it would challenge the ban in court.

The Florida state legislature passed a bill Friday that expands Gov. Ron DeSantis's (R-FL) migrant transportation program sending immigrants who entered the United States illegally to "sanctuary" cities and states.

The new bill creates the "Unauthorized Alien Transport Program," which was passed during a special session of the legislature. The bill allows Florida to send immigrants in any state to liberal areas. A record number of immigrants illegally entered the country last year.

The murder rates in Trump-voting states from 2020 have exceeded those in Biden-voting states every year since 2000, according to a new analysis by ThirdWay, a center-left think tank.

Why it matters: Republicans have built their party on being the crime-fighting candidates, even as murder rates in red states have outpaced blue states by an average of 23% over the past two decades.

Four reliably-red states consistently made the top of the list — Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, and Missouri.

Los Angeles, a Democratic Party bastion of supposed left-wing tolerance and enlightenment, saw hate crimes increase by 23% in 2021 to their highest levels in two decades, according to a new local government report.

According to the Los Angeles Times, the L.A. County Commission on Human Relations reported the dire news:

The report noted 786 victims of hate crimes, a 23% increase over 2020. The crimes overwhelmingly included acts of violence, and more than half were spurred by racism. Blacks, Latinos, Jews and LGBTQ individuals were among the most-targeted groups.

Many rural Oregonians fed up with the state's liberal politics want to move to Idaho — or rather, move Idaho to them.

The Greater Idaho movement proposes redrawing Oregon's borders so that about two thirds of the Beaver State's land mass becomes part of neighboring Idaho. The movement has already gained support from nine counties in Eastern Oregon, and two more will vote on whether they want lawmakers to work on the logistics of moving the border.

Some two years since COVID-19's spread reached the United States and our nation's leaders began taking action in response, a new study compares the outcomes in all 50 states and the District of Columbia to see which leaders did the best, and which did the worst. 

Unsurprising to conservatives but likely a shock to the mainstream media and liberals, the states with better outcomes were not the ones with draconian never-ending mandates and lockdowns, but the ones that allowed more freedom and encouraged people to make the best choices for themselves.
