Border Patrol agents will no longer wear body cameras during field operations. This decision came after a viral social media post showed how body cameras can identify individual agents.

"All U.S. Border Patrol Agents will cease the use of body-worn cameras (BWC) in all operational environments," Customs and Border Protection (CBP) said in a statement to NewsNation, which initially reported the news.

Seattle elected officials are calling for increased police accountability after release of footage of an officer joking following the death of a woman struck and killed by another officer’s vehicle.

In footage released Monday, officer Daniel Auderer, vice president of the Seattle Police Officers Guild, joked about the death of 23-year-old Jaahnavi Kandula after she was fatally struck in January by officer Kevin Dave’s vehicle in a South Lake Union crosswalk.

A Seattle city councilwoman is calling for the firing of cop Daniel Auderer, the man filmed saying a college student run over by a police cruiser had 'limited value' - though he claims the remarks have been taken out of context.

Jaahnavi Kandula, 23, was run down by a speeding police SUV as she was crossing a heavily marked crosswalk near the Seattle graduate college campus in the South Lake Union neighborhood on January 23.

Not even the Memphis police chief could dismiss the video footage of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols being fatally beaten by cops in early January. On the day before its public release, police chief Cerelyn Davis declared the attack â€śheinous, reckless and inhumane.”

The Memphis police chief disbanded the city’s so-called Scorpion unit on Saturday, citing a “cloud of dishonor” from newly released video that showed some of its officers beating Tyre Nichols to death after stopping the Black motorist.

National Guard troops activated by Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp were not needed in downtown Atlanta Friday night as dozens of protesters held a peaceful demonstration following the release of bodycam video showing Memphis police officers brutally beating Tyre Nichols following a traffic stop.

A small gathering of protesters met at Centennial Olympic Park, where they chanted and demanded justice for Nichols, who died of the injuries he sustained during the beating. The five Memphis officers involved were fired and have been charged with murder and other crimes.

Protests spread across the country after body camera footage was released showing the beating of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols in Memphis.

The Memphis Police Department released four videos of the arrest; three from body-worn cameras and one from a street surveillance camera.

Protesters gathered in a park near the White House in D.C., in Memphis, Tennessee, and in other cities as the video was released.

Protesters across the US were holding marches and rallies on Saturday, one day after the release of video showing the horrific police beating of Tyre Nichols in Memphis.

The graphic video of police striking the Black man who later died earlier this month drew outrage from across the country. Protests began forming Friday night, with people in several cities taking to the streets and raising signs bearing Nichols’ name.

After the release of the brutal video footage from Tyre Nichol’s arrest in which he was badly beaten by police officers, Tennessee county placed two deputies on leave from Shelby County Sheriff's Office in Memphis.

Just hours after the footage was released, Sheriff Floyd Bonner Jr. made a statement saying that he was concerned about two deputies who appeared on the scene following the physical confrontation between the officers and Nichols.
