Chaos erupted along the US-Mexico border on Monday when cartel members opened fire on US Border Patrol agents. This incident came just one week after President Trump ramped up border security efforts, deployed the military, and formally designated cartels as foreign terrorist organizations.

Late Monday night, Texas Department of Public Safety Lt. Chris Olivarez wrote on X:

EXCLUSIVE — Border Patrol agents expressed more distrust of Democratic presidential nominee Kamala Harris than President Joe Biden and said they will not vote for her in November in interviews with the Washington Examiner.

None of the more than a dozen Border Patrol agents questioned by the Washington Examiner said they would cast a ballot for Harris because they do not view her as supportive of the organization and its congressionally mandated mission.

U.S. Border Patrol encountered over 250 migrants who were on the terrorist watchlist over a two-year stretch, with at least 99 of them released into the country, according to a Congressional report released Monday.

The claims have been made by the Republican-led House Judiciary Committee in a new report, which blames the Biden administration for allowing suspected terrorists from three dozen countries into the U.S.

The Biden administration has caught and released at least 99 illegal immigrants whose identities matched the terrorism watch list, according to a congressional report Monday.

They were caught by the Border Patrol along the southern border from 2021 through 2023 and were subsequently released as part of the Biden administration’s more relaxed approach to immigration, the House Judiciary Committee said.

Another 34 illegal immigrants flagged by the watchlist were still being held as of June.

The Biden administration has begun flying illegal immigrants who came over the southern border back to China after a six-year hiatus in large charter plane repatriation flights.

The Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday that U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement conducted its first large charter flight to the People’s Republic of China over the weekend.

Inflation could reaccelerate if former President Trump wins the White House and Republicans win control of Congress, according to a recent report by Moody’s Analytics.

Under the so-called Republican Sweep scenario, which the forecasters place at a 35 percent probability, consumer price inflation accelerates from 3 percent in 2024 to 3.6 percent in 2025, according to the three economists who authored the report.

With little over four months to go before the presidential election, 16 Nobel prize-winning economists are cautioning voters on what they see as the inflationary pitfalls of another Trump administration.

Echoing President Joe Biden’s reelection campaign, the group of Nobel laureates say that former President Donald Trump’s economic plans would rekindle inflation and inflict lasting harm on the global economy should he win on Nov. 5.

Arrests for illegal border crossings dropped more than 40% during the three weeks asylum processing has been suspended, the Homeland Security Department has said.

Border Patrol's 7-day daily average arrests have fallen below 2,400, the lowest number since 17 January 2021, according to Homeland Security.

President Joe Biden suspended asylum processing with an executive order to "gain control of the border" on June 5.

Border arrests had decreased 25% as of last week according to Biden, and have now fallen further.
