Justice Department Special Counsel David Weiss announced Thursday that a former FBI informant was charged with “making a false statement … and creating a false and fictitious record” for statements reportedly made about President Joe Biden and his family’s business dealings, changing what were “routine and unextraordinary” contact with executives into “bribery allegations against” Biden.

Alexander Smirnov, 43, was charged and arrested at the Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas on Thursday.

Special Counsel David Weiss charged a former FBI informant with lying about President Joe Biden and his son Hunter Biden’s business dealings with Ukrainian natural gas company Burisma.

Weiss — who has charged Hunter Biden with six felonies and six misdemeanors in two seperate criminal investigations — charged Alexander Smirnov with 18 U.S.C. § 1001: false statement, and 18 U.S.C. § 1519: creating a false and fictitious record, related to allegedly false information that he gave to his FBI handler about the Bidens.

Then-Vice President Joe Biden apparently used a pseudonym to exchange more than 50 emails with one of Hunter Biden’s business associates, newly released emails show.

Joe Biden sent 54 private emails to Hunter Biden’s close business associate and accountant, Eric Schwerin, by using the “Robin Ware” alias, according to an email search released Tuesday by the House Ways and Means Committee. The email data was provided to the committee by IRS whistleblower Joseph Ziegler, who testified Tuesday behind closed doors alongside IRS whistleblower Gary Shapley.

President Joe Biden may have sent or received about 82,000 pages of emails through pseudonymous email accounts, according to a filing by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

The court filing was made as part of a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit brought by the Southeastern Legal Foundation, a conservative nonprofit organization, against NARA.

“Joe Biden was using a pseudonym and he copied his son about a shady, shady transaction where Joe Biden was going to leverage American tax dollars to save his son’s butt. … Along the same time period, we found a pseudonym where he copied Hunter Biden and it would lead one to believe that this was Joe Biden’s way of copying Hunter Biden to say, okay, send it to the Burisma owners and tell them help is on the way, and five days later, Joe Biden flew to Ukraine to begin the process of firing the prosecutor in exchange for America tax dollars in the form of foreign aid.”

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer, R-Ky., repeated his call for National Archives and Records Administration (NARA} to release to Congress an unredacted copy of emails and documents purporting to show then-Vice President Joe Biden's office colluding with the Biden family and its business associates, saying he believes there are more documents in NARA's hands than originally believed.

House Oversight Committee chairman James Comer (R., Ky.) sent a letter to the National Archives and Records Administration on Wednesday requesting “unrestricted special access” to communications between the office of then–vice president Joe Biden and Hunter Biden or his business associates.

The letter requests unredacted copies of the documents included in NARA’s “Records on Hunter Biden, James Biden, and Their Foreign Business Dealings” file.
