On Thursday, the New York City Banking Commission, which consists of Comptroller Brad Lander, Mayor Adams, and Commissioner Preston Niblack of the Department of Finance, has taken action against two major financial institutions, Capital One and KeyBank. The Commission decided to limit deposits at the banks after they failed to submit the required plans demonstrating their commitment to combating discrimination.

The ruling orders Deutsche Bank, Capital One to comply with the request for records.

House Democrats can access President Trump’s private financial records from two banks, a federal appeals court ruled Tuesday, finding a ā€œpublic interestā€ in refusing to block congressional subpoenas.

The ruling from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 2nd Circuit came in the ongoing legal battle Trump has waged to shield his private business records from disclosure — including in two cases that have already reached the Supreme Court.

A software engineer in Seattle hacked into a server holding customer information for Capital One and obtained the personal data of over 100 million people, federal prosecutors said on Monday, in one of the largest thefts of data from a bank.

The suspect, Paige Thompson, 33, left a trail online for investigators to follow as she boasted about the hacking, according to court documents in Seattle, where she was arrested and charged with one count of computer fraud and abuse.
