Every community has charitable nonprofit organizations that help people navigate difficult situations. Some of those local, compassionate outreaches, however, are being bullied.

An unintended pregnancy is an unexpected battleground across the United States. Every woman should be loved and supported in her pregnancy. Compassionate help dedicated to encouraging women with unplanned pregnancies to say yes to their babies is not something that should be controversial.

Argentinian President Javier Milei made two big announcements on Wednesday: to have his country withdraw from the World Health Organization and to ban hormone therapy for minors in his country. Milei, who attended President Donald Trumpā€˜s inauguration and has been a staunch ally of the newly elected president, said his country is withdrawing from the WHO over ā€œprofound differencesā€ with its mismanagement of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The Senate overwhelmingly passed two bills intended to strengthen children’s online safety on Tuesday, imposing new rules on what online firms can offer to minors and how they use those children’s data.

Both bills, the Kids Online Online Safety Act (KOSA) and the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Action (COPPA) 2.0, were approved in bipartisan 91-3 votes.

The Senate voted overwhelmingly Tuesday to pass two landmark bills meant to protect children from the harms of social media and ensure children’s user privacy is safeguarded.

By a vote of 91-3, the Senate passed the Kids Online Safety Act, or KOSA, and the Children and Teens’ Online Privacy Protection Act, or COPPA, the most significant tech-regulation package of the past two decades. It remains unclear whether the legislation will pass the House, which is currently on recess until September.

– Cat ladies unite. Many women were already mobilized to support Kamala Harris; now J.D. Vance has spurred even more of them into action. Donald Trump’s VP pick, in a resurfaced 2021 Fox News appearance, said that ā€œchildless cat ladies,ā€ including Harris, were running the Democratic Party—to the detriment of the country.

Here’s his full quote, via the Guardian:

In a 2021 interview with Fox News, JD Vance lamented that the United States was being run by ā€œchildless cat ladiesā€ like Vice President Kamala Harris, women who he claimed had no ā€œdirect stakeā€ in the country’s future.

This week, Ms. Harris received a powerful gesture of support from one of her biggest advocates: the mother of her stepchildren.
