Chris Licht was blindsided by his ouster as CEO of CNN, Page Six hears.

Insiders say the out-the-door exec had meetings on his calendar for Wednesday, which — as of Tuesday night — he was expecting to attend.

The company announced on Wednesday morning that he’d resigned as CEO.

Chris Licht is out at CNN after leading the news network for a little more than a year, parent company Warner Bros Discovery announced Wednesday morning.

The company said it is seeking a replacement. In the meantime, executives Amy Entelis, Virginia Moseley, Eric Sherling and David Leavy will lead CNN, the company said.

Licht’s departure came as he faced a rebellion among CNN’s talent and staff. His tenure was riddled with programming missteps and rock-bottom ratings.

CNN’s embattled chief Chris Licht will reportedly step down from the role, according to multiple news reports.

He will be succeeded by Amy Entelis, a CNN executive, for the interim period, according to Puck’s Dylan Byers.

Licht was under fire following a series of controversies, including hosting a town hall with former President Donald Trump, which were detailed in a damaging profile by The Atlantic Friday.

Warner Bros. Discovery CEO David Zaslav joined CNN’s morning editorial call to announce Licht will be leaving his role as CEO, CNN correspondent Omar Jimenez tweeted.

Licht is reportedly slated to be replaced by CNN executive Amy Entelis who previously served alongside former CEO Jeff Zucker, Puck News reported. 

CNN vet Anderson Cooper called the network’s May 10 presidential town hall event with Donald Trump “disturbing,” and told viewers that they “have every right to be angry and never watch this network again.”

“Many of you think CNN shouldn’t have given him any platform to speak and I understand the anger about that — giving him the audience, the time, I get that,” Cooper said during the opening monologue of his CNN show “Anderson Cooper 360°.”

Former President Donald Trump’s town hall event felt like a lightning round of false and misleading claims — most of which we’ve heard before. Among them:

He claimed the conservative group True the Vote found Democrats “stuffing ballot boxes” with “millions of votes” and it was caught “on government cameras.” It did not.
