A doctor who conducted President Joe Biden’s annual physical examination wrote in a memo Wednesday that the president remains ā€œfit for dutyā€ and is a ā€œhealthy, active, robust 81-year-old male.ā€

Dr. Kevin O’Connor wrote that the president had no significant changes in health from his last physical exam, conducted last year. It said Biden noted he’d suffered from some discomfort in his left hip, and a check revealed ā€œmild arthritic changes.ā€

Joe Biden's doctor says he is "fit for duty" and "no new concerns" have been identified after the US president's annual medical examination.

Mr Biden, whose health has been under scrutiny ahead of November's presidential election, underwent the assessment on Wednesday.

White House physician Dr Kevin O'Connor said that Mr Biden "fully executes all of his responsibilities without any exemptions or accommodations".

"Everything's great," Mr Biden said.

Rep. Ronny Jackson (R-TX) blasted President Joe Biden’s latest physical, calling it a ā€œcomplete joke.ā€

The former White House physician appeared on Hannity and explained that a portion of the typical neurological exam was not included.

ā€œThis whole report is absolutely ridiculous,ā€ Jackson said. ā€œIt’s nothing more than the White House’s effort to check the box and hope we’ll move on from this.ā€

Jackson also slammed White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, who has defended Biden’s cognitive ability as being daily on display.

The daughter of the once-oldest president, Ronald Reagan, who was 77 when he took office, thinks cognitive tests for presidential candidates would be ā€œa good idea,ā€ she said in an interview that aired Sunday.

ā€œJust what we know about what age can do, it doesn’t always do that, but it would probably be a good idea,ā€ Patti Davis said on NBC’s Meet the Press, in response to a question from host Kristen Welker about whether she agreed with the prospect.

President Biden’s memory lapses, confusion, stumbles and halting gait have ramped up calls that he undergo a cognitive test during his annual physical exam.

Mr. Biden, 81, is set to undergo his physical as early as this month. White House aides said the exam, like last year’s, would not include a cognitive test required for many Americans older than 65.

A growing number of lawmakers insist that Mr. Biden undergo tests to determine whether he is capable of running the country or is suffering from dementia.
