When North Carolina Democrats head to the polls on March 5 to cast their primary votes, President Joe Biden's name will be the only Democrat on the ticket.

On Tuesday, the North Carolina State Board of Elections unanimously voted to approve the North Carolina Democratic Party's request that Biden be the only Democrat listed on the primary ballot.

Under North Carolina law, state political parties must submit a list of candidates for their primary ballot within three months of the primary election.

Democratic presidential candidate Rep. Dean Phillips has unloaded with his most brazen criticism of President Biden to date, telling The Post his re-election would be ā€œdangerousā€ for the country.

ā€œWe’re human beings, and I think it’s irresponsible for Americans to place in the White House presidents who are in their 80s. I think it’s wrong, I think it’s dangerous,ā€ Phillips, 54, said Thursday during an interview at his campaign office in New Hampshire’s largest city.

Dean Phillips, the Democratic congressmember challenging Joe Biden, is endorsing ā€œMedicare for Allā€ legislation, aligning himself with the progressive movement in one of its longstanding gripes with the White House.

The Minnesota representative, for the first time, is signing onto a bill that would create a single-payer health care system in America.

Rep. Dean Phillips, D-Minn., said the ongoing impeachment inquiry investigation involving President Joe Biden and his family's business practices might make Biden "unelectable" in 2024.

Special counsel David Weiss indicted last week Hunter Biden, the president son, on charges of failing to file or pay taxes and of lying on tax forms. Phillips, who is challenging Biden for the Democratic Party's presidential nomination, told Semafor on Sunday that he would vote against the Republican impeachment inquiry.

Dean Phillips isn’t likely to hurt Joe Biden in New Hampshire. But his entry into the Democratic primary could spoil Nikki Haley and Chris Christie’s electoral math here.

The two Republicans are polling better than any other candidate with New Hampshire independents who are likely to pull a GOP ballot in the state’s open presidential primary. That’s a major boost in a state where independents make up the largest share of the electorate — and where the lack of a serious contest on the Democratic side meant many of them were poised to vote in the Republican primary.

Such is the geriatric nature of American politics that the two most recent newcomers to the national political landscape, both in their early 50s, are widely dismissed as youthful interlopers. But Speaker of the House Mike Johnson and newly-minted presidential contender Dean Phillips may play an outsized role in the 2024 election season. So keep an eye on these kids.

U.S. Rep. Dean Phillips of Minnesota will challenge Joe Biden for the Democratic presidential nomination on Thursday.

ā€œI am, I have to,ā€ Phillips told CBS News’ Robert Costa. ā€œI think President Biden has done a spectacular job for our country. But it’s not about the past, this is an election about the future.ā€

ā€œI will not sit still and I will not be quiet in the face of numbers that are so clearly saying that we’re going to be facing an emergency next November,ā€ he added.
