A teenage Iranian girl who fell into a coma after she was allegedly assaulted by the country’s morality police for not wearing a headscarf has died, according to Iranian state media.

“Unfortunately, the brain damage led to the victim spending some time in a coma and they died a few minutes ago,” the statement from IRNA said.

Earlier this week, Armita was declared â€śbrain dead” despite the efforts of medical staff to save her.

The president of a Detroit synagogue board was found dead Saturday morning with multiple stab wounds outside her home, police said.

The victim, Samantha Woll, was the president of the board of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, which is in downtown Detroit, the synagogue said in a Facebook post.

“We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President,” the synagogue said. “May her memory be a blessing.

Police are investigating after a Detroit synagogue board president was found dead outside her home early Saturday.

Detroit police have not released the victim's name, but the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue announced the death of synagogue Board President Samantha Woll just after 2 p.m. Saturday on Facebook.

"We are shocked and saddened to learn of the unexpected death of Samantha Woll, our Board President. At this point we do not have more information, but will share more when it becomes available. ...

"May her memory be a blessing," synagogue officials said.

Prominent Detroit synagogue leader Samantha Woll was found stabbed to death outside her home Saturday morning — and the public is urged to avoid speculating about the circumstances of her death until more details are known.

The “politically connected” synagogue president, 40, was found outside her home in the city’s Lafayette Park neighborhood, east of downtown, the Detroit Free Press reported.

Doug Larsen, a Republican state senator from North Dakota, was killed alongside his wife and their two children when the plane they were traveling in crashed in Utah Sunday evening, according to a Monday email from the state’s GOP majority leader obtained by the Associated Press.

The plane crashed just north of Moab, Utah, shortly after it took off from a nearby airfield, according to the Grand County Sheriff’s Office.

Sen. Dianne Feinstein, who died yesterday at age 90, will be remembered for many things: Her rise to power following the assassinations of San Francisco Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk, the gay rights pioneer; her 30 years of service in the Senate, where she was the architect of the 1994 federal assault weapons ban and the 2014 report on torture in the Bush administration; and her shattering of numerous glass ceilings on what women, and Jews, could achieve in our country.

Senator Dianne Feinstein, rest in peace. Whatever you think of her and her 31 years in the Senate, she was loved by a lot of people, and those people are hurting right now. We should all hope that God eases the grief of Feinstein’s friends, family, and supporters; perhaps they can find solace in the fact that Feinstein packed so many accomplishments into her 90 years. We only get one chance at life, and Feinstein made the most of hers.

Top Republican senators said Friday they won’t try to prevent Democrats from replacing the late Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., on the Judiciary Committee after the vacancy left Democrats without a majority on the key panel.

Sen. John Cornyn of Texas, a senior Republican on the Judiciary Committee, told NBC News that “there’s no doubt in my mind” Democrats will be able to fill her spot on the panel once there is a successor appointed to her Senate seat.

The family of a Nevada woman who died of sepsis after taking abortion pills is suing for wrongful death, a case that is reigniting safety concerns as the Biden administration seeks to expand access by relaxing medical protocols.

Alyona Dixon, 24, died Sept. 28, 2022, less than a week after she was prescribed the two-pill abortion regimen at a Planned Parenthood clinic. The cause of death was “complications from septic abortion,” said attorney Mark Rouse, who represents the family.
