Two malls in Dallas-Fort Worth are ready to help shoppers with a growing technology service: drone deliveries. Stonebriar Centre in Frisco and Hulen Mall in Fort Worth are rolling out deliveries through Wing drone service and DoorDash, the popular app for getting items to your door. The two malls are part of Brookfield Properties, which has shopping centers across the country. Over 50 merchants are available to folks within roughly a four-mile distance of the malls for the deliveries from Wing, which is part of Google’s parent company Alphabet. Items...

House Intelligence Committee members on Tuesday sought to ease public worries about drone sightings following a briefing, echoing law enforcement statements that there is nothing nefarious behind the activity even as some called for legislation to address the matter. Lawmakers on the panel met for over two hours with 28 briefers from a slew of government agencies, including the FBI, the Pentagon, and the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). “No. 1, we spent a lot of time in this hearing asking the question in every way imaginable as to whether...

Amid the drone uproar in the New York and New Jersey area, the FBI and the U.S. Department of Homeland Security have reportedly deployed infrared cameras and drone detection technology to vet the security risks of the drones. While Biden administration officials have mostly dismissed the situation as an "overreaction," New York Democrat Gov. Kathy Hochul has called for federal government surveillance technology, and a law enforcement source told ABC News the technology is now deployed to ensure the drones are not harmful. "In response to my calls for additional...

Mysterious flying objects overhead. Concern and confusion. And calls for military intervention.

This isn’t the plot of “War of the Worlds,” but rather the result of numerous possible drone sightings in recent weeks. The flying objects have been spotted over residential neighborhoods, restricted sites and critical infrastructure.

The sightings have put intense pressure on federal agencies to provide more information about the aircraft, as officials have urged calm and emphasized there is no evidence suggesting the sightings pose a security threat.

“There’s one now,” I heard the words come out my mouth as our group of friends made their way to their cars.

We had just wrapped up a fun night of Christmas caroling to some neighbors and before that at a senior living facility in the suburbs of the New York Tri-state area.

Joe Rogan is one of many people worried about the mysterious drones appearing over New York and New Jersey.

The podcast host took to X to share his thoughts on the drones, which have been spotted in recent weeks and triggered an FBI investigation. On Sunday, Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas said there was no need for concern, there was no evidence the drones were a threat to public safety and that there was "no foreign involvement with respect to the sightings."

But Rogan was not buying the explanation, describing it as "sus."

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) has announced federal authorities will deploy a “state-of-the-art drone detection system” to the Empire State, after a flurry of reports of unknown drone sightings. The White House has stressed that the flying objects do not pose any threat and may be a “slight overreaction” from the public, but federal officials have garnered criticism over not providing enough information about the objects. Hochul announced the deployment of the system in a statement on Sunday and shared her gratitude for the support from the federal government.

Two federal agencies said Thursday that most of the drone sightings reported in New Jersey in recent weeks are actually manned aircraft that people on the ground are mistaking for mysterious unmanned aerial vehicles.

Homeland Security and the FBI said they have found no evidence that the real drones among the sightings pose a threat and said they are not being operated by a foreign power.

“We have no evidence at this time that the reported drone sightings pose a national security or public safety threat or have a foreign nexus,” the agencies said.
