At 11:04 a.m. March 14, State Police and Animal Control Officer Brad S. DiCenzo came to the rescue after multiple callers reported seeing a bald eagle in distress in the median of Interstate 495 in Merrimac . DiCenzo took the eagle to the Merrimac police station and it was later transferred to a wildlife rehabilitation center. It turned out that the eagle had a fractured left femur. Police Chief Eric Shears praised the actions of DiCenzo and others that led to the rescue. “I want to thank the public who...

Democrats are relying on a recent memo from the Government Accountability Office to argue that President Donald Trump and congressional Republicans can't pass a bill repealing a Biden-era waiver allowing California to mandate electric vehicles in the state. But legal experts say the memo—whose authors include a prominent DEI activist—isn't legally binding and relies on dubious reasoning.

Tesla (TSLA) and BYD (BYDDF) are the world's largest electric-vehicle makers.

In 2022, China EV and battery giant BYD's vehicle sales raced ahead of Tesla's and are now well more than twice as high, three times as much in Q4 2024. For all-battery electric vehicles (BEVs), BYD seized the crown in Q4, though Tesla led by a hair for 2024.

Both Tesla and BYD set quarterly delivery records in Q4, but Tesla's annual deliveries fell for the first time. Tesla earnings came in light, even with a bitcoin boost.

It is darkly amusing to see people who view electric cars as vital to the planet’s future attack the most successful electric brand in the country.

It’s a trope to say that Donald Trump’s opposition has been shell-shocked and rudderless in the wake of his election victory and his fast start out of the gate.

Not to fear, though. The Left has hit on its next big project — an intifada against the country’s largest maker of electric cars.

Segall, a therapist in Newton, bought the car because she wanted to drive an electric vehicle. But now, instead of making her feel good about doing her part for the Earth, it also represents something she does not like — namely Elon Musk, with his alleged Nazi salutes , and what she sees as his cruel slashing of the government and people’s jobs. On the surface, the magnets on the rear bumper of Rachel Segall’s Tesla seem funny. “Here for zero emissions, not Elon,” reads one. “Bought it before we...

In this graphic, Visual Capitalist's Marcus Lu ranks the world’s best-selling cars from 2024 using data compiled by Statista. Will Tesla Retain the Crown in 2025? With Tesla sales sputtering in the early days of 2025, it’s possible that the once untouchable EV maker could start to fall down the rankings. We can see in this graphic that Toyota, the world’s biggest automaker by sales, has two models close behind the Model Y. To stay competitive, Tesla recently revealed its long-awaited Model Y refresh codenamed ‘Juniper’. With a fresh exterior...

A New York car dealership has given a new vehicle to a Wisconsin woman after learning that she was discriminated against by another dealership. Makayla Starks found a racial slur typed on an oil change sticker after she got her car serviced in January at Kunes Buick GMC in Oak Creek. “While they were supposed to be servicing my car, apparently, an employee typed up a racial slur [the n-word] and put it in the comment section of my oil change sticker. They adhered that to my windshield,” Starks, 33,...

Plans have been lodged for a battery energy storage facility in Rotherham. It would be on land off Hard Lane in Kiveton Park and could store enough electricity to power approximately 130,000 homes for two hours, saving more than 5,500 tonnes of carbon dioxide annually. The firm behind the project, Harmony Energy, said they have amended their proposals to further screen the development from the existing public footpath and Community Woodland area to the west following a public consultation. The 40 mega watt (MW) project, would be located next to...

Two things you wouldn’t normally associate with climate activism: Car racing and Draco Malfoy, the smug bullyboy wizard of the Harry Potter book and movie franchise. But here they were magically together in Miami this week to promote an upcoming race featuring cars almost as slick as the Nimbus 2001 broomstick Malfoy rode in quidditch competitions. Tom Felton, the actor who played Draco throughout the series, was among the celebrity drivers at a demonstration in Miami Gardens in advance of an April race at Homestead-Miami Speedway featuring Formula E vehicles....

New York Democrats have joined Republicans in urging Gov. Kathy Hochul to pump the brakes on the timeline forcing New Yorkers to switch from gas-powered cars to emission-free electric autos. The Advanced Clean Car rule requires that 35% of 2026 model cars sold in the state be “emissions-free” and 100% by 2035, though Hochul’s office said there’s built-in flexibility to avoid penalties. The message from New York lawmakers: slow down! “While we understand the goal of reducing emissions, the current mandate presents numerous challenges for New Yorkers, particularly for dealerships,...
