Former President Trump has requested financial and other documents from eight potential VP picks as he formalizes his vetting, an official tells Axios.

The intrigue: Some candidates got more extensive paperwork requests than others — a possible clue to how hotly they're being considered.

The contenders, in no particular order:

House Republican Conference Chair Elise Stefanik called Monday for Congress to sanction the International Criminal Court following prosecutors’ announcement they will seek an arrest warrant against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

ā€œThe ICC is an illegitimate court that equivocates a peaceful nation protecting its right to exist with radical terror groups that commit genocide,ā€ Stefanik (R-NY) told The Post.

A top House Republican is accusing special counsel Jack Smith of election interference as the prosecutor leads two criminal cases against former President Donald Trump.

House Republican Conference Chairwoman Elise Stefanik (R-NY) announced on Tuesday that she had filed an ethics complaint against Smith with the Office of Professional Responsibility at the Department of Justice (DOJ).

At some point in the next several months, Donald Trump—having parted ways with his veep, whom he almost got killed—is going to have to announce a 2024 running mate. Who is the lucky lady, or lad, going to be? No one, including the GOP presidential candidate himself, seems to know. The short list, a Trump adviser told The Washington Post, is ā€œgrowing, not shrinking,ā€ and the ex-president continues to come up with new names for consideration. But he definitely has some requirements that narrow the field of potential candidates. According...

Sen. J.D. Vance (R-Ohio) said former President Trump hasn’t mentioned being his running mate in the presidential election, despite speculation in recent months that he’s one of the contenders. ā€œI’ve never actually spoken to the president about VP speculation. My simple answer is, I wanna help him however I can,ā€ Vance told Fox News’s Laura Igraham Thursday. ā€œIf he asks me, of course, I would think seriously about it. It would be a great honor.ā€ ā€œI’m also happy to support the agenda in the United States Senate and regardless, Laura,...

EXCLUSIVE — The widow of former Alaska GOP Rep. Don Young is weighing in on the race to replace her late husband, giving crucial support to a Republican candidate seeking to flip the seat held by Rep. Mary Peltola (D-AK). Anne Garland Young is endorsing Lt. Gov. Nancy Dahlstrom for Alaska’s sole House seat, the campaign first announced to the Washington Examiner. The endorsement is likely to give Dahlstrom a boost in one of the most competitive races of the 2024 cycle. ā€œ[Dahlstrom] is the only candidate my husband, Congressman...

Rep. Elise Stefanik’s (R-N.Y.) stock is rapidly rising in the race to be former President Trump’s running mate.

Stefanik, the No. 4 House Republican, has become a close ally of Trump’s and has increasingly positioned herself as a betting favorite to be on the GOP presidential ticket if the front-runner wins his party’s nomination.

Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., denounced the secrecy surrounding Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin’s hospitalization as ā€œabsolutely unacceptableā€ and called for his resignation Monday.

Austin, who ranks just below President Joe Biden at the top of the U.S. military chain of command, has come under intense scrutiny after it was revealed he withheld that he was hospitalized on New Year's Day from the president and the public for several days.

The elite college presidents who waffled on whether calls for ā€œgenocide of Jewsā€ violate their conduct codes have been widely excoriated, but as far as ā€œSaturday Night Liveā€ is concerned, the joke was on Rep. Elise Stefanik.

The NBC sketch-comedy show was accused of stunning tone-deafness for a skit that mocked not the Harvard, University of Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts Institute of Technology presidents who stepped in it during last week’s House hearing, but the Republican Stefanik.

Rep. Elise Stefanik (R-N.Y.) filed a judicial ethics complaint Friday against the New York judge overseeing former President Trump’s civil fraud trial, claiming the judge has shown ā€œinappropriate bias and judicial intemperanceā€ toward the former president and calling on him to resign.

Judge Arthur Engoron has displayed a ā€œclear judicial biasā€ against Trump and broken ā€œseveral rulesā€ in the state’s judicial conduct code, Stefanik wrote in a letter to the New York State Commission on Judicial Conduct.
