The Federal Bureau of Investigation, founded in 1908 and headquartered in Washington D.C., has jurisdiction over more than 200 categories of federal crimes.

This story isn’t over. Heads should roll over this elaborate plot to muzzle the Hunter Biden laptop story, which the FBI knew was authentic from day one. Michael Shellenberger, Alex Gutentag, and Catherine Herridge wrote in Public about the now-released, though heavily redacted chats, the bureau had among top officials and the agent who acted like the liaison between the FBI and Silicon Valley. The bureau had an extensive team working with social media companies to suppress certain opinions and stories while trying to influence public opinion. That operation has blessedly been obliterated.

The FBI silenced an employee who tried to tell Twitter the Hunter Biden laptop story was real on the day it came out, newly released chat logs show.

On October 14, 2020, the day the New York Post first reported on Hunter Biden’s laptop, the FBI told employees ā€œdo not discuss [the] Biden matterā€ and imposed a ā€œgag orderā€ on an analyst who tried to confirm the story’s veracity to Twitter during a meeting, according to chat logs released by the House Judiciary Committee.

The raft of recent FBI warnings hitting smartphone and computer users should not be a surprise. The threat landscape is rapidly worsening, whether from Chinese hackers penetrating U.S. networks or unpaid toll scams spiraling out of control. And much more dangerous AI-fueled attacks will soon turn all this up to eleven.

The FBI has created a task force dedicated to investigating Tesla attacks, FBI Director Kash Patel confirmed on X on Monday.

Why it matters: It's the latest step by the Trump administration to use the full weight of the government to both promote and defend Elon Musk's car company.

What they're saying: "This is domestic terrorism," Patel said. "Those responsible will be pursued, caught, and brought to justice."

The task force will operate in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.

The FBI on Monday launched a task force to crack down on violent Tesla attacks, Fox News Digital has learned.

The FBI’s task force was created in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms (ATF) and will coordinate investigative activity.

Fox News Digital has learned that there have been various instances in recent weeks of vandalism, arson and targeted shootings against Tesla vehicles, dealerships and charging stations across the nation.

The FBI said on Monday that it has launched a task force to investigate scores of attacks in recent weeks targeting Tesla, the electric vehicle company headed by Trump administration DOGE chief Elon Musk.

The announcement of the task force, which is operating in conjunction with the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, came hours after a bomb squad found multiple incendiary devices at a Tesla showroom in Austin, Texas, the same city where the company has its headquarters.

The FBI has cut staffing in an office focused on domestic terrorism and has scrapped a tool used to track such investigations, in a shift that could undermine law enforcement’s ability to counter white supremacists and anti-government extremists, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The moves, sources said, are an indication that domestic terrorism investigations, which in recent years have largely involved violence fueled by right-wing ideologies, may be less of a priority under FBI Director Kash Patel, a prominent critic of the effort...

The State Department was allegedly warned about Lee Harvey Oswald's plan to assassinate John F Kennedy months before the president was killed, a new trove of top secret files about the assassination has revealed.

In a never before seen letter, which was released Tuesday evening with thousands of other unredacted documents, a man named Sergyj Czornonoh told the US British Ambassador how he warned authorities about Oswald's murder plot multiple times.
