A man drove his car into protesters outside a Tesla dealership in Florida’s Palm Beach County over the weekend, authorities said.

None of the participants in the demonstration against President Trump and tech billionaire Elon Musk was hurt in the incident.

It comes as protests pop up across the country looking to combat Musk’s role in the Trump administration and with the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

You may have seen the coverage of my Friday morning interview with Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Casey DeSantis at the National Review Ideas Summit.

I don’t know if Casey DeSantis will run for governor of Florida in 2026. But consider a handful of facts:

  • The governor could have come to the NR Ideas Summit alone; the DeSantises came together and did a joint interview.

In Hialeah, Florida, a city that’s 95% Hispanic, only three residents showed up at a recent city council meeting to speak against a partnership with the federal government to enforce immigration laws.

The police departments in Hialeah, where three out of four people were born abroad, and Coral Gables, with a majority of Hispanics mostly of Cuban descent, have entered into agreements with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement with very little visible pushback.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) took a swipe at Rep. Byron Donalds (R-Fla.) Monday as the congressman inches closer to launching his gubernatorial campaign in the state.

ā€œMy view is Donald Trump just got into office. I want these congressmen focused on enacting his agenda. They haven’t done very much yet,ā€ DeSantis told reporters when asked whether he planned to endorse Donalds.

Florida Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis doused talk that supports Rep. Byron Donalds, R-Fla., winning the upcoming gubernatorial election. DeSantis is out of the running due to term limits.

President Donald Trump endorsed Donalds in the race even though Donalds has not officially announced his candidacy. "Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement. RUN, BYRON, RUN!" Trump wrote on Truth Social last week.

Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on Monday suggested his wife, Casey DeSantis, could be a formidable candidate in the 2026 Florida governor's race, while taking a swipe at President Trump's preferred candidate in the election.

Why it matters: With DeSantis term-limited and potentially eyeing a 2028 presidential run, the Florida governor's race could set up a battle of wills between the president and one of the most prominent GOP governors in the country.

An off-duty Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office Corrections Deputy was gunned down on Monday night in what investigators say was a targeted attack. Deputies responded to reports of gunfire at around 7:30 p.m. in the 1400 block of Northwest Avenue D in Belle Glade. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from gunshot wounds. He was taken to St. Mary’s Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, said Therese Barbera, spokeswoman for PBSO. The victim, a 39-year-old deputy, had served with PBSO for three years, said Barbera. Authorities have not yet...
