“If I threaten someone, you’ll know it,” White House counselor Kellyanne Conway told reporters Friday morning in a bizarre hours-long effort to discredit an audio recording that seemingly showed her threatening to use West Wing resources to investigate the personal life of a reporter a day earlier.

“I never threatened anyone,” Conway told a gaggle of journalists at the White House. “Don’t use those words. I didn’t threaten. It’s not a threat. I never threatened her.”

A tense phone conversation between a reporter for the Washington Examiner and White House senior counselor Kellyanne Conway was published by the newspaper on Thursday.

In the conversation, Conway objected that a story written by the reporter, Caitlin Yilek, mentioned that her husband George Conway is a fierce critic of President Trump on Twitter.

Yilek was writing a story on Conway possibly becoming President Trump's next White House chief of staff if Trump decides to move on from the official now in the position, Mick Mulvaney.

Kellyanne Conway defended her phone call with a Washington Examiner reporter during an appearance on Fox News.

Fox News host Sandra Smith described the phone call Friday between reporter Caitlin Yilek and the counselor to the president as a "heated clash" during which things got "very personal."

Conway claimed, "Everything I said in that phone call, I’ve said publicly before. Every single thing. I said it again."

Smith asked Conway if there was anything she regretted about how she handled her phone call, which she denied.

To this day, I can remember almost the precise spot where it happened: a supermarket parking lot in eastern Massachusetts. It was the mid-1970s; I was not yet a teenager, or barely one. I don’t remember exactly what precipitated the woman’s ire. But I will never forget what she said to my mother, who had come to this country from the Philippines decades before. In these words or something close, the woman said, “Go back to your country.”

Attorney General William Barr has said he will release a redacted version of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report in the coming days, and conservative attorney George Conway says there’s one key phrase to look for.

In his summary of the findings, Barr claimed Mueller found no evidence of collusion between Russia and President Donald Trump’s 2016 campaign. He wrote:

As the report states: ‘[T]he investigation did not establish that members of the Trump Campaign conspired or coordinated with the Russian government in its election interference activities.’

Kellyanne Conway's husband is a "husband from hell!" President Donald Trump declared Wednesday, escalating his awkward public fight with the spouse of a top aide.

Trump's feud with George Conway has played out with ever more heated rhetoric on social media. Conway, who has questioned Trump's mental health, fired back after Trump's latest tweet, saying the president seems "determined to prove my point."

President Trump turned up the heat Wednesday in his feud with George Conway, calling the spouse of adviser Kellyanne Conway a “stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!”

“George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted. I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.
