(AP) — The widow of Hunter Biden’s brother told jurors in his federal gun trial Thursday about the moment she found the revolver in his truck, describing how she put it into a leather pouch, stuffed it into a shopping bag and tossed it in a trash can outside a market near her home.

“I panicked, and I wanted to get rid of them,” she testified about finding the gun and ammunition in the vehicle’s console in October 2018. “I didn’t want him to hurt himself, and I didn’t want my kids to find it and hurt themselves.”

WILMINGTON, Del. — Hunter Biden’s sister-in-law-turned-lover Hallie Biden testified Thursday that the first son introduced her to crack cocaine in the summer of 2018 and she was “embarrassed” and regretted “that time of my life.”

Hallie, the widow of Hunter’s late brother, Beau Biden, also told a federal court why and how she threw out the .38-caliber revolver prosecutors say Hunter illegally bought and owned — before undergoing a withering cross-examination by defense attorney Abbe Lowell.

Hallie Biden, the widow of Hunter Biden's brother Beau Biden, testified Thursday in Hunter Biden's federal gun trial that she was "panicking" when she found and later discarded the firearm at the center of the case, and she said that it was through Hunter Biden that she also came to use crack cocaine.

Hallie Biden is considered to be the prosecution's star witness, and her appearance on the stand followed Gordon Cleveland, who testified Wednesday that he sold Hunter Biden the firearm. Prosecutors have granted Hallie Biden immunity for her testimony. 

Hunter Biden’s criminal trial will begin with jury selection Monday morning in Delaware. The trial stems from federal gun charges brought against him by special counsel David Weiss.
