The University of Louisville has reportedly agreed to pay nearly $1.6 million to settle a lawsuit brought by a former professor who was fired for criticizing transgender treatments for children experiencing gender dysphoria. Dr. Allan Josephson worked for nearly 15 years as chief of the University of Louisville's Division of Child and Adolescent Psychiatry and Psychology. According to his legal complaint, Josephson was able to turn around the struggling division during his tenure and received perfect scores in his 2014-2016 annual reviews.

'I've been given the gift of life' A man says he has been given "the gift of life" after being given the all-clear from blood cancer thanks to an odds-beating transplant from his brother. Adam Claxton, 42, from Worcester, was diagnosed with acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) last September. He underwent a transplant on Christmas Eve using stem cells from his brother Leon, 40, and has just been told he is in remission. "Having a transplant, you go into this waiting game where you've got to wait 100 days to have...

Yesterday, I was gang-flogged on KOS for responding to an article about RFK Jr.’s new push for a study on Autism. I think I got 20 replies more or less telling me I was an idiot because I had said something to the effect that Vaccine Safety and concern about Autism were legitimate issues — I was instead informed that these were topics are dangerous political dynamite that we’re no longer allowed to think or talk about — instead we all have to jump on the echo chamber bandwagon and...

Influencer Dominique McShain has died at age 21, PEOPLE can confirm. The news comes about one year after she shared that she was diagnosed with incurable colorectal cancer in April 2024. On April 6, she posted an emotional message on social media to inform her followers that she was nearing the end of her life. The young TikTok star said she was recently given a prognosis "of only a few days to a few weeks to live." Her liver was "failing rapidly to the point of jaundice," she wrote, and...

Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr's quest to "Make America Healthy Again" grew far more substantial on Tuesday, with the announcement that the federal government will eliminate all petroleum-based synthetic food dyes by the end of 2026. The announcement came at a Washington DC news conference, with RFK Jr joined by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Commissioner Marty Makary and National Institutes of Health Director Jay Bhattacharya. The podium was flanked by "MAHA Moms" and their children; the moms are a coalition of outspoken advocates of the...

Novavax Inc. shares rose after US regulators asked for more data on its Covid vaccine, signaling the shot may be on a path to full approval despite US Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. raising doubts about its efficacy. The company said Wednesday the US Food and Drug Administration is seeking more clinical data as part of a “post marking commitment,” which are studies done on safety and efficacy after a product has been approved. The company’s vaccine is already on the market under a conditional approval...

Eli Lilly said Wednesday it had sued four compounders for selling unapproved products containing tirzepatide, after a U.S. judge last month blocked pharmacies from making copies of its weight-loss and diabetes medicines. Compounders were, until recently, allowed to produce copies of obesity drugs while the FDA classified them as being in shortage, under U.S. rules that permit such manufacturing only during supply gaps. Tirzepatide is the main ingredient in Lilly's weight-loss and diabetes medicines, including the blockbuster, Mounjaro.

At just 22 years old, Amon Kipruto Mely believed selling his kidney would be his ticket out of poverty. Living in a small village in Kenya, Amon struggled to survive in the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic. Then a friend introduced him to what seemed like a miracle opportunity. “He told me selling my kidney would be a good deal,” Amon recalled. At Mediheal Hospital in Eldoret, Kenya, staff handed Amon consent documents written in English—a language he couldn’t read. “They did not explain anything to me,” said Amon. “The...
