A dog who survived Hurricane Dorian is being called a "miracle" in the Bahamas. The people who rescued the dog have named him Miracle because he survived underneath rubble for about a month.

Rescuers from Big Dog Ranch Rescue in Loxahatchee Groves in Palm Beach County say they have rescued over 100 dogs since the devastating storm him the Bahamas. They have used a drone to aid their recovery efforts and the technology was integral during this particular rescue.

Over the weekend, confusion over whether people fleeing the Bahamas in the wake of Hurricane Dorian would be allowed to seek refuge in the U.S. prompted the acting commissioner of U.S. Customs and Border Protection to declare that storm refugees are welcome, regardless of whether they have travel documentation. The statement came after a video taken aboard a ferry full of people showed an official announcing that those traveling from the Bahamas to the U.S. needed a visa to travel to the U.S.

The map he displayed included what appeared to be a hand-drawn half-circle that extended the cone of uncertainty over a swath of Alabama.

WASHINGTON — When President Trump displayed a large map of Hurricane Dorian’s path in the Oval Office on Wednesday, it was hard to miss a black line that appeared to have been drawn to extend the storm’s possible path into the state of Alabama.

That might have been intended to bolster Mr. Trump’s claim on Sunday when he tweeted that “in addition to Florida — South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, and Alabama, will most likely be hit (much) harder than anticipated.”

Democratic presidential candidate Marianne Williamson urged her Twitter followers to pray for the Bahamas and the Southern U.S. coast on Wednesday morning, as Hurricane Dorian made its devastating path northward. This in itself was not a remarkable thing for a presidential candidate to do. The unusual thing was that Williamson also seemed to suggest that “the power of the mind” could alter the hurricane’s path.
