CNN has shaken up its struggling lineup once again, with Jim Acosta moving to weekdays and the New York-based morning production team being disbanded. 

The long-troubled "CNN This Morning," which was the brainchild of since-fired CEO Chris Licht, will now be hosted by Kasie Hunt at 5-7 a.m. ET, with current anchors Poppy Harlow and Phil Mattingly being pushed aside. CNN says Harlow and Mattingly are being considered for other roles at the network that "showcase their talents and work well for them." 

CNN’s Jim Acosta confronted former presidential candidate Andrew Yang on Sunday over his tweets criticizing the FBI’s Trump raid and alluding that the execution of the search warrant was politically motivated. Asked if it sounded as if he was letting former President Trump “off the hook,” Yang backpedaled, claiming “extremism is on the rise in this country” and pivoting to promoting his new political party. “I don’t think you answered my question,” Acosta responded.

As new CNN head Chris Licht looks to revamp a network that has lost its way, he has one thing working in his favor: The "news" network at this point couldn't possibly get worse. That's what you'd think, anyway, as the once-news-heavy network turned into a den of cheap punditry that swiftly turned every breaking story into a rote-format Teatime For Assholes segment featuring a line of partisan provocateurs to insist that the story, whatever it was, was yet more proof that whoever last wrote a check for their consulting services is the one with all the answers to these problems.

Jim Acosta’s act has grown tired in the Biden Era. Nevertheless, the CNN reporter-turned-anchor persists in adopting every conventional liberal Twitter opinion and vilifying anyone who takes a more nuanced approach. NEW DELHI – President Donald Trump took his battle with CNN overseas on Tuesday, as he and correspondent Jim Acosta clashed over truth-telling and reports over Russian interference in U.S. elections.

After Trump attacked CNN during a wide-ranging news conference in India, Acosta told the president: "I think our record on delivering the truth is a lot better than yours sometimes, if you don’t mind me saying."

Donald Trump and Jim Acosta attacked each other on Tuesday when the CNN reporter pressed the president on the circumstances behind Joe Maguire’s departure as Acting Director of National Intelligence.

During Trump’s press conference in New Delhi, India, Acosta followed up on previous questions about Russia’s attempts to influence the election by asking “Can you pledge to the American people that you will not accept any foreign assistance in the upcoming election?”
