Police in Kansas continue to search for the man who tore off the tip of a person’s finger with his teeth before getting away.

Police said it started when that suspect stole a bottle of alcohol from a bar near 7th and Massachusetts Street in Lawrence. The suspect allegedly stole Fireball from Logie’s on Mass Street, then took off running down Mass St., where he randomly attacked a man and bit off the tip of his pinky finger.

Figure skaters and coaches were among those killed after an American Airlines regional jet carrying 64 people collided with a military helicopter while landing at Ronald Reagan National Airport near Washington, D.C., on Wednesday.

U.S. Figure Skating, the sport's governing body in the U.S., said in a statement that "several members of our skating community" were on the American Eagle jet that collided with an Army Black Hawk over the Potomac River. At least three Russian figure skaters were among the victims, local media reported.

At least 19 bodies have been recovered after an American Airlines regional jet carrying 64 people collided mid-air with an Army Black Hawk helicopter on Wednesday evening, according to reports.

All 67 people on board both aircraft that crashed down into the Potomac River are feared dead, Kansas Senator Roger Marshall said. None of the helicopter’s three crew were senior Army officials, authorities said.

An American Airlines passenger jet with 64 people on board has crashed midair into a military helicopter while attempting to land at Reagan National Airport in Washington.

Emergency services in the city are searching the nearby Potomac River after the jet plummeted into the water just before 9pm on Wednesday night.

Officials have not said how many people died in the accident but have suggested that there may be no survivors. It is the first major commercial air crash in the US in 16 years.

Severe storms over the weekend led to the deaths of at least 20 people across Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri and Kansas, according to The Associated Press and Arkansas state officials.

At least 25 tornadoes were reported across five states, according to officials.

Seven people died in Texas and more than 100 were injured as the severe weather swept through the state, Gov. Greg Abbott said at a news conference Sunday evening.

Abbott said 106 counties in Texas were under disaster declarations.

Flavor Flav has called out Kansas City Chiefs kicker Harrison Butker after the NFL player delivered a controversial commencement speech at Benedictine College's graduation. A FedEx Airlines cargo plane was forced to land in Turkey without the use of its front landing gear on Wednesday morning, May 8, the Turkish transport ministry said. Fedex Express Flight 6268, a Boeing 767, was flying from Paris Charles de Gaulle Airport to Istanbul Airport when it informed the Turkish traffic control tower that its landing gear failed to open. Officers responded around 11:44 p.m. to the 1900 block of North Hallock Street after a man walked into the emergency room at the University of Kansas Medical Center and told police he killed someone, according to Officer T.J. Tomasic, a spokesman for the Kansas City, Kansas Police Department. When police arrived on North Hallock, they found a dead woman who had been shot inside a home, Tomasic said.
