President Trump, in an exclusive interview Friday morning with “Fox & Friends,” said he will not fire adviser Kellyanne Conway in the wake of a government watchdog’s recommendation that she be removed over violations of the Hatch Act.

“I’m not gonna fire her. I think she’s a terrific person. She’s a tremendous spokesperson,” Trump said.

President Donald Trump said Friday that he would not fire his adviser Kellyanne Conway, despite the US Office of Special Counsel's recommendation that she be removed from federal service for several violations of the Hatch Act.

"No, I'm not going to fire her. I think she's a terrific person," Trump told Fox News' "Fox and Friends."

WASHINGTON — A federal watchdog agency is recommending that White House counselor Kellyanne Conway be fired for repeatedly violating a law that limits certain political activities of federal employees.

The U.S. Office of Special Counsel says Conway has become a “repeat offender” of the Hatch Act by disparaging Democratic presidential candidates while speaking in her official capacity during television interviews and on social media.

A White House spokesman calls the Office of Special Counsel’s actions “deeply flawed.”

The Office of Special Counsel has had issues with White House Counselor Kellyanne Conway for months, and now they are formally requesting her removal from federal service. In a letter released on Thursday, the OSC explains that not only has Conway violated the Hatch Act by disparaging Democratic candidates in TV interviews, but she's also mocked the law itself.

The OSC wants President Trump to take her "defiant attitude" and "pattern of misconduct" into account and dismiss her.

White House counselor Kellyanne Conway defended the Trump campaign’s victory in 2016 Sunday, saying they didn’t need any help from Russia.
“Donald Trump won. We didn’t need Wikileaks. We had Wisconsin. He won because he was the better candidate,” Mrs. Conway said on ABC’s “This Week.”
She said the unveiling of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report on Russian election interference totally exonerated President Trump on charges of collusion and obstruction of justice.

She’s powerful because she lies. A lot.

To hear CNN tell it, White House counselor Kellyanne Conway has outlasted many Trump administration officials because she’s loyal and “relentlessly on message” — positive qualities that warrant her inclusion in the network’s “Badass Women of Washington” series.

But for those of us who still care about facts, Conway is one of the world’s most shameless liars, distinguishing herself with a unique willingness to look into a camera and say anything to protect a president who traffics in misinformation.

Kellyanne Conway's husband is a "husband from hell!" President Donald Trump declared Wednesday, escalating his awkward public fight with the spouse of a top aide.

Trump's feud with George Conway has played out with ever more heated rhetoric on social media. Conway, who has questioned Trump's mental health, fired back after Trump's latest tweet, saying the president seems "determined to prove my point."

President Trump turned up the heat Wednesday in his feud with George Conway, calling the spouse of adviser Kellyanne Conway a “stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!”

“George Conway, often referred to as Mr. Kellyanne Conway by those who know him, is VERY jealous of his wife’s success & angry that I, with her help, didn’t give him the job he so desperately wanted. I barely know him but just take a look, a stone cold LOSER & husband from hell!” Trump tweeted Wednesday morning.
