North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un met with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin on Wednesday at the Vostochny Cosmodrome, Russia’s most advanced space launch facility. Kim pledged unwavering support for Russia’s brutal invasion of Ukraine, while Putin said Russia would help North Korea build satellites — dual-use technology that could greatly improve the quality of North Korea’s long-range ballistic missiles.

Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin held hours of talks at a Russian spaceport Wednesday in a rare encounter that has fueled Western concerns the North Korean leader will provide military support for the Russian president’s war in Ukraine.

The two leaders smiled and shook hands as they met at the Vostochny spaceport in Russia’s far eastern Amur region, bringing together their increasingly isolated regimes engaged in intensifying confrontations with the United States and its allies.

Vladimir Putin greeted North Korea's leader Kim Jong Un in Russia's eastern Amur region early Wednesday, according to Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti.

The two leaders met at the Vostochny cosmodrome for a rare, planned meeting addressing a potential arms deal to help resupply Moscow’s military, which has been drained by its war in Ukraine. Kim is expected to seek economic aid and military technology as part of the discussion.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin met for a rare summit on Wednesday at which they discussed military matters, the war in Ukraine and possible Russian help for the secretive Communist state's satellite programme.

Putin showed Kim around Russia's most advanced space rocket launch site in Russia's Far East and discussed the possibility of sending a North Korean cosmonaut into space. Kim, who arrived by train from North Korea, asked detailed questions about rockets as Putin showed him around the Vostochny Cosmodrome.

Kim Jong Un vows full support for Russia as Putin pledges space tech for North Korea SEOUL, South Korea — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un promised his full support for Russian President Vladimir Putin in what he called a "fight against imperialism" in a summit in Russia, saying the countries' relations are a "top priority." Putin offered North Korea technological assistance to launch a satellite into space and said there are "possibilities" for military cooperation between them. The meeting, which lasted more than four hours Wednesday in Russia's Far...

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un and Russian President Vladimir Putin met on Wednesday, and their talks were "very substantive," according to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The duo, which had not met in person since before the coronavirus pandemic, spent roughly five hours together, according to Russian state news agency TASS. They met at the Vostochny Cosmodrome. North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un pledged his full support for Russian President Vladimir Putin's "sacred struggle" against Ukraine on Wednesday. Putin hosted Kim for a rare summit at a space facility in Russia's far east on Wednesday, the first such meeting in four years. Putin seeks further support for his war in Ukraine as military resources are stretched thin, while Kim's regime is pushing for assistance with its space program and its desiccated economy. "Russia is now rising to the sacred struggle to defend its state sovereignty and protect...

Putin's need for weapons likely prompted expected meeting with Kim Jong Un Seoul, South Korea — North Korean leader Kim Jong Un told Russian President Vladimir Putin on Wednesday that his country offers its "full and unconditional support" for Russia's "sacred fight" to defend its security interests, in an apparent reference to the war in Ukraine. Kim said North Korea would always stand with Russia on the "anti-imperialist" front. The allies' meeting came amid mounting concern that the two heavily-sanctioned countries may strike a deal to share weapons and satellite...

North Korean leader Kim Jong Un arrived in Russia on Tuesday aboard a dark green armored train for a controversial meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin. Kim arrived in Russia on his personal train, a slow-moving, bulletproof fortress that can only travel about 25 miles per hour on North Korea's archaic rail system, according to a report from Reuters. Ahn Byung-min, a South Korean expert on North Korean transportation, told Reuters that the train works better to secure the North Korean leader and would be more comfortable than the country's...
