Department of Homeland (DHS) Security Secretary Kristi Noem joined FBI Director Kash Patel in the fight against swatting calls targeting members of the "conservative new[s] media," announcing Wednesday her department will "hunt these cowards down."

Patel recently confirmed a rise in swatting incidents, when someone tries to send armed police to another person's house under false pretenses, aimed at media figures and their families.

The act, she said, puts the lives of the victims and responding officers in danger.

The Trump administration has relaunched the United States Border Patrol's app, now offering illegal immigrants the chance to notify the government they are self-deporting.

Previously known as CBP One under former President Joe Biden, CBP Home is being touted by the administration as the safest way for those without legal status to leave the country.

On day one of his presidency, Donald Trump issued a directive abruptly ending the government’s use of CBP One ā€“ an online application that had served as the primary means for people at the southern border to apply for asylum in the US. On Monday, the administration announced it has reimagined the app as a platform for ā€œself-deportationā€.

Kristi Noem, the secretary of Homeland Security, announced that the app had been rebranded as ā€œCBP Homeā€ and that anyone with the old CBP One app would be redirected to the new version.

The Trump administration has unveiled a new initiative to streamline the voluntary deportation process with the relaunch of the Biden-era CBP Home app. This digital tool will now allow illegal immigrants to initiate their deportation process voluntarily. The app is designed to simplify the procedure and provide illegal aliens with a more efficient, self-directed way to leave the United States without facing enforcement actions.

Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Secretary Kristi Noem signed a memo this week deputizing up to 600 State Department officials as immigration officers, as part of a government-wide push to ramp up deportations and secure the border.

Noem signed an order that deputized up to 600 special agents in the State Department’s Diplomatic Security Service to help with the arrest and deportation of illegal immigrants.

South Dakota governor Kristi Noem, President-elect Donald Trump's pick to lead the Department of Homeland Security, faced senators on Friday as Trump's Cabinet nominees faced grillings this week.

Noem, who backed Trump's 2017 Muslim travel ban and, in 2021, said she would deliver razor wire to the Southern border, said at the hearing she would help reinstate the Remain in Mexico policy and eliminate the CBP One app, which allows migrants to schedule appointments with border officials.

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security will crack down on domestic terrorism, the border, and cybersecurity attacks rather than waging war against election misinformation, secretary nominee Kristi Noem vowed.

During her Friday confirmation hearing before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee, the Republican governor of South Dakota emphasized how the American people have lost trust in the DHS and other federal agencies meant to ensure national security, particularly those responsible for the border.

South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem should leave well enough alone, given the fallout over an anecdote in her new book about shooting a dog she later deemed to be a danger to her children. Instead, the governor has pushed ahead on a media tour plugging No Going Back, and to suggest that it has been a disaster is an understatement. With a passage about a supposed meeting with North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong Un reportedly being scrubbed on reprints and the audio and ebook editions, the Republican politician cannot...
