Democratic donors have fled Sen. Kyrsten Sinema since she left the party — and she hasn’t made up the loss with Republicans or independents.

That dynamic encapsulates the challenge the Arizona independent faces as she weighs whether to seek reelection: Sinema quit a party with which she was often at odds, and now she will have to build a base using only her personal brand.

The campaign finance data indicate it will be a daunting task.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema, the Arizona Democrat-turned-independent, hasn't publicly announced whether she's running for re-election next year. But privately, her political team has been mapping out a campaign strategy, pitching donors and potential supporters on how she can win the marquee Senate race.

Republican Blake Masters will reportedly announce his campaign for U.S. Senate in an effort to unseat independent Arizona Sen. Krysten Sinema.

The Wall Street Journal reported that Masters, who lost his bid for Arizona’s other Senate seat  in 2022, plans to run in 2024. Masters previously lost to Arizona Democratic Sen. Mark Kelly, winning 46.5 percent of the vote to Kelly’s 51.4 percent.

When the Biden administration doled out millions in border relief money recently, it gave more to New York — the home of Congress’ two top Democratic leaders — than to Arizona.

And now the Copper State’s most famous former Democrat is calling out her old party’s leaders.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema slammed Democratic Party leaders again Wednesday for celebrating more than $100 million in federal funds to help shelter migrants in New York while her own border state of Arizona was given a fraction of that.

The senator, who left the Democratic Party in December to become an independent, doubled down on criticism she made earlier this month of Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-NY) after the two boasted in June of securing Gotham $104.6 million of an $800 million grant from the Biden administration.

Arizona leaders are calling for more funding to be directed to the southern border as states like New York are getting nearly double the amount of money to address the migrant crisis.

This year, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has given more than $290 million to help fund migrant shelters and provide health care, food and other services to border communities.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) blasted Democratic leadership for New York getting funding for handling immigrants from the southern border rather than border communities getting the extra funding.

When the Senate passed the annual defense policy bill Thursday on an eye-popping 86-11 vote, it stood as a vivid counterpoint to the partisan rancor that surrounded the House’s version of the National Defense Authorization Act.

And to Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.), it was also further proof of the magic power of cross-party relationships and another example of how they can make Washington work.

Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-AZ) hit out against the Biden administration’s proposed ban on menthol cigarettes, arguing such decisions should be left to the individual states rather than the federal government.

The Senate voted Thursday to scrap President Biden’s proposal to forgive more than $400 billion in student loan debt, a vote that is expected to force Biden to issue his fifth presidential veto since taking office.

In a 52-46 vote, the Senate passed a resolution disapproving of the Department of Education rule implementing Biden's plan. The vote was successful thanks to Sens. Joe Manchin, D-W.Va., Jon Tester, D-Mont., and Kyrsten Sinema, I-Ariz., who voted with all 49 Republicans to scrap the loan bailout.
