Police officials said the couple had attended the Women of Vision Awards and left New York’s Ziegfeld Ballroom at about 10 p.m. It was the first public event that Harry and Meghan had attended since King Charles III’s coronation, which the duchess didn’t attend. Julian Phillips, the police department’s deputy commissioner of public information, said officers “assisted the private security team protecting the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.” Buda said the group pursuing them were “driving aggressively and badly.” He added that they were “following us to find out where...

Princess Diana’s former bodyguard came to the defense of the paparazzi involved in what Prince Harry and Meghan Markle claimed was an hours-long “near catastrophic” car chase — insisting that the shutterbugs are “at worst a nuisance” but “are not out to cause the death” of anyone. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex claimed that they were subjected to a “relentless pursuit” by “highly aggressive” photographers as they were returning from the Women of Vision Awards, where Meghan was honored for her advocacy, at the Ziegfeld Ballroom in Midtown Manhattan...

A paparazzi driver interviewed by British TV show Good Morning Britain has accused Harry and Meghan’s team of risking a perilous situation by making blocking “maneuvers” as they attempted to lose photographers following them after Meghan was given an award at a ceremony in central Manhattan Tuesday night. Harry and Meghan’s team have accused the paparazzi of causing a “near catastrophic” accident, but the individual, interviewed anonymously by Thursday, blamed the Sussex team.

A taxi driver who drove Prince Harry and Meghan Markle for about 10 minutes during a "near catastrophic" car chase with paparazzi on Tuesday (16 May) evening has broken his silence about the ordeal. Yesterday, a spokesperson for the Duke and Duchess of Sussex said in a statement that the pair, along with Meghan's mother Doria Ragland, were involved in a "relentless" chase with paparazzi after an appearance at an award ceremony. "Last night, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex and Ms Ragland were involved in a near catastrophic car...

Prince Harry recorded paparazzi harassment of himself, Meghan Markle and her mother Doria Ragland and will hand the files to the New York Police Department, Newsweek has been told. Harry and Meghan's team said the trio were subjected to a "relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours," though their account was toned down by the NYPD, New York Mayor...

Prince Harry and his wife, Meghan, the Duchess of Sussex, took refuge at New York City police station in the middle of a "chaotic" pursuit by photographers, the couple and law enforcement sources said Wednesday.

The pair, together with Meghan’s mother, were followed by photographers after leaving a charity event in Midtown Manhattan on Tuesday night.

“This relentless pursuit, lasting over two hours, resulted in multiple near collisions involving other drivers on the road, pedestrians and two NYPD officers,” a spokesperson for the couple said in a statement.

The New York Police Department (NYPD) said there were no arrests or injuries.
