Remember when Space Force was the punching bag of liberals from coast to coast? Wait and see just how many paeans to the brave men and women of the military branch established during the first Donald Trump administration the left launches in the next few weeks after a military commander with the branch effectively tried to take a Space Force base out of the hands of the second Trump administration.

Every other winter, the U.S. military gathers with allies on the Arctic for Operation Ice Camp as the warming region becomes increasingly accessible, raising concerns about borders and peace.

At the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland, a $37 million sea wall project was finished last year to keep out the rising tides now flooding the base 30 to 40 times a year.

The administration of President Donald Trump promised big changes to the status quo in short order when it re-took the White House last November.

And as far as the U.S. Army goes, it appears to be doing just that.

Now under the purview of Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, a report has surfaced that the military ā€œis quietly considering a sweeping reduction of up to 90,000 active-duty troops,ā€ according to Military.com.

A U.S. armored vehicle that went missing in Lithuania has been retrieved from a swamp after a six-day search but there is still no information about the fate of the four American soldiers who were on board, Lithuanian officials said Monday.

ā€œThe armored vehicle was pulled ashore at 4:40 a.m., the towing operation is complete, Lithuanian Military Police and US investigators continue their work,ā€ Defense Minister Dovilė Å akalienė said Monday morning in a post on Facebook.

President Donald Trump suffered a series of legal losses this week as more federal judges blocked his executive orders.

Why It Matters

The issues this week affect everything from the ban on trans members of the military to the retention of government records and the firing of thousands of federal workers.

ā€œWe have had record people wanting to join our military in the last 2½ months literally since this — I think probably since the election November 5th. But especially since we came to office and since I announced Pete. He’s young, he’s smart, he’s strong, he loves it, and they love him. But we’ve had record numbers of people wanting to join our military. Now if you go back six months, it was the exact opposite. You had record numbers of people not wanting to join the military. Now you have record numbers of people wanting to be in our military.ā€

A federal judge from New Jersey temporarily blocked the Trump administration from separating two transgender service members from the Air Force.

The ruling is the second instance when a federal judge has ruled against the Trump administration as it seeks to implement its ban against transgender people from serving in the military.

A federal judge on Tuesday temporarily blocked the U.S. military from enforcing President Donald Trump's executive order barring transgender people from military service while a lawsuit by 20 current and would-be service members challenging the measure goes forward.

U.S. District Judge Ana Reyes in Washington found that Trump's January 27 order, one of a several issued by the Republican president impacting legal rights for transgender Americans, likely violated the U.S. Constitution's prohibition on sex discrimination.

The U.S. indicted two active-duty U.S. Army soldiers and a former soldier on charges of bribery, theft of government property as well as conspiracy to transmit national defense information. The Justice Department announced the arrests of First Lt. Li Tian, Sgt. Jian Zhao and former soldier Ruoyu Duan.

Tian and Zhao served at Joint Base Lewis-McChord in Washington state. Duan previously served in the U.S. Army.
