Milwaukee Public Museum's future home had its groundbreaking ceremony Tuesday, with construction to begin in June. The ceremony was moved from the construction site, at West McKinley Avenue and North Sixth Street, to The Trade hotel, 420 W. Juneau Ave., because of rain. Mayor Cavalier Johnson and others praised the $240 million project. Johnson told the crowd the museum "will be a major driver" in Milwaukee's continued growth, with County Executive David Crowley calling it "an exciting new landmark building." Downtown Madison's Madison Night Market returns for the season on the capital city's State Street on Thursday evening. The market will feature storefront booths or cafes from numerous downtown businesses, as well as over 110 craft and retail vendors showcasing handmade products, art, artisan gifts, artisanal foods and fresh produce. The event will also include live music performances, street performers and over a dozen food carts. Madison's Central Business Improvement District recently announced the 2024 expansion of the night market, which began in 2017.

A diminishing line of storms should bring rain to Milwaukee by late morning, before a slight risk of severe weather develops in the afternoon.
