Mayoral candidate and then-Gov. Andrew Cuomo used heavy-handed tactics and secretiveness with Big Apple officials as the city struggled to contain the deadly COVID pandemic, a scathing new study says.

Ex-Mayor Bill de Blasio also gets dinged in the report, which was issued by several city agencies that analyzed New York City’s handling of the health crisis — and which specifically criticized the toxic relationship between him and Cuomo.

Nassau County has become the first county in the U.S. to strike an agreement with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement to help deport criminal and illegal immigrants, Republican county executive Bruce Blakeman announced Wednesday.

Unlike the rest of New York, the suburban Long Island county is not considered a sanctuary for illegal aliens. The state as a whole, including nearby New York City, saw a rapid increase of migrant arrivals since spring 2022.

The new tolls disproportionately hurt poor people and small businesses, and they punish older and handicapped people.

Many drivers are cheering President Trump’s order to end New York City’s $9 congestion toll, a Biden-approved pilot program effective last month. But the Big Apple is lawyering up. Governor Kathleen Hochul is fighting to keep the toll, and the MTA is suing the U.S. Department of Transportation to preserve it.

Gov. Kathy Hochul (D-NY) launched a ā€œYou’re hiredā€ initiative to attract former federal workers fired by the Department of Government Efficiency.

Hochul has begun publicly positioning herself as a major Democratic opponent of President Donald Trump, clashing with him last week over his intervention to kill New York City’s controversial congestion pricing plan. She trolled the president again on Tuesday, flipping Trump’s famous catchphrase to attract workers laid off by Elon Musk’s DOGE.

Mayor Eric Adams’ criminal case will stay in limbo for several more weeks — as a federal judge said Friday he wants to hear from an independent lawyer before deciding whether to toss the charges.

Manhattan federal Judge Dale Ho ordered Adams’ April 21 corruption trial adjourned as he appointed former US Solicitor General Paul Clement to argue against the Justice Department’s position that the mayor’s case should be dismissed.

A federal judge has vacated the upcoming trial date for New York City Mayor Eric Adams, but declined to immediately dismiss the charges all together in a case that has roiled the Justice Department.

Judge Dale Ho, instead, is appointing conservative attorney Paul Clement to present arguments challenging the Justice Department’s decision to drop charges against Adams and as he explores what his options are and if a dismissal is in the public interest.
